Amazonos Ch. 17: The Witch in the WoodsAs they entered the woman’s home, Amazonia took notice to the appointments of the interior. Being a cobbler’s, it was filled with leather and tools as well as finished sandals and footwear on workbenches and shelves along the wall. Ariel guided her past the work area to the bedroom. It was rustic and lightly appointed. It was more a bedroom for a male rather than a female or a wedded couple. Ariel was oblivious to this as she placed the wounded woman onto the bed and went to attending to her injuries. Amazonia sheathed her weapons and went to retrieve some water for the injured woman, yet she still felt as though this was lodging for a man. The woman was a bit delirious from the impact of the stones that hit her; she kept repeating “No…you should let me be.”
Ariel tries to comfort her, as she holds her hands. “Relax, you are hurt, you need to rest.”
“They will burn us alive…I know it….we are not safe.” She reiterated

NEXT:
Amazonos Ch. 19: The FallenAs they set up their campsite, the three realize this may take some time. Amazonia took notice of the wild swine that were plentiful in the woods as she looked to Ariel and Cleon. “There seems to be plenty of game in these woods. Perhaps we can do better than just fruit for a meal.” She says as she grabs her spear.
“We are going to need firewood as well.” Ariel replies, which catches Cleon’s attention.
“I could fetch us some wood.” She volunteers as she reaches for a small axe-like instrument. “I don’t want to be a useless participant.”
Ariel smiled as she simply rummaged through her satchel. “Fine, I’ll finish setting up the camp then.”
Amazonia and Cleon then took their instruments and strolled off into the woods while Ariel unpacked and attempted to bring some order to the area. It was some 30 minutes later as she was busy clearing an area for the three to sleep that she felt a presence. As she turned arou
