The Great Dolphin Wars [PART ONE]

“When the humans inexplicably disappeared, the remaining animals on Earth gained their level of intelligence. The only remains of human civilization is what they left behind, only to have it being studied and examined by the primitive neighbors. Monkeys and other primates escaped from the zoo and broke into the humans homes. They studied their technology, and was able to recreate it, as they functioned daily human lives with ease. Other animals managed to escape from zoos, and those in the wild adapted cultures and technologies distant from human ones. Aquatic animals were alienated from the surfaces. No matter however, as dolphins with their superior intelligence began to dominate the underwater cultures. Birds controlled the skies, but settled on land. They would travel from place to place without a permanent home. And so the terrains and the aquatics coexisted peacefully.

Insects worked in hive-minds, and drove the rest of the terrains animals insane with their nuisance. Imagine having a million little bees swarming together making indistinctive chatter like those gulls from 'Finding Nemo.' It wasn't long before the insects realized that with their great numbers internationally, they were capable of becoming a dominant species. Thus began World War III, as the monkey called it. However, the terrains' technology reined superior over the insects, and soon they would be eradicated. However, the aquatics frowned upon this. The dolphins knew that if the bees were to become extinct, it would kill off all plants, and eventually the land animals. They refused to let the insects reign the Earth indefinitely, so the aquatics allied with the terrains to put an end to the war. Insects now gone, the dolphins and monkeys developed synthetic-bees, which are capable of pollination. The hummingbirds also put up an effort to pollinate some plants. However, this was not the last war. Miniature civil-wars broke out on land and water, and soon small nations were formed, each inhabited by several species. The Council Man of Species was formed, each including the democratically elected leader of each nation, including the dolphins, sharks, bears, primates, foxes, penguins, and ducks. So began the first form of a government.

As oceans flooded due to global warming, the terrains built metallic docks onto the ocean. However, with food being an issue for the carnivores, they relied on the fish in the ocean. The aquatics did not respond kindly to this situation, but allowed it in the name of survival. As years passed and any remnants of land had sunk, the iron docks became a new land, Pangea, as they were all interconnected. Overfishing became an issue, with the aquatics not willing to become endangered. The terrains also started polluting the waters with their ‘eco-friendly’ fuel sources. You would think that animals with the gift of human intelligence also has the evils of one. The terrains stopped seeing themselves as a whole and instead saw themselves as a race. The aquatics did not take this very well, and committed marshall law upon Pangea. The terrains did not take this very well, since their food supply was running low, and their pollution started affecting the air above them. Tension broke out and the two declared war on one another. The aquatics had far more advance technology thanks to the dolphins. However, much of their population was eliminated due to the terrains. What eventually became left were the dolphins, the sharks, the whales, and the marlins. The war lasted for years come, and it was no longer a food issue, and it eventually transformed into a war out of the hatred of one another. Both eventually had such advanced technology, that they reached a deadlock."

Benny the Dolphin closed down the textbook, he looked at date of publication. "Circa 1150 After Sheep-sis Christ."  Benny took his casual walk down the shore when an explosion hit a nearby building. Benny looked up and saw submarines piloted by cats. Benny remembered that was the building of his family reunion and the same location of the family-fun fair where all of his friends and acquaintances were. “First, the terrains pollute our waters, take our food, and now they’ve killed my friends and family,” Benny muttered. They were all actually okay, but Benny couldn’t hear them.  “This has gone too far, this deadlock has gone on for hundreds of years, and another hundred years to come. Maybe its about time I do my race a favor and sign up for the military.”

And so began the Great Dolphin Wars.
