Description

slowest sketch ever.  just haven't had a continuous block of time to put into this, so it's just little edits whenever i get a chance.  another continuation of the dark avatar, unalaq concept.  other steps:


after taking a slight detour into a more fantasy style dark avatar, stripped it down again to just a floating unalaq that has merged with vaatu -- or at least how i picture that looking.  the giant hands were a stylistic thing at first, but now i think they're a little distracting.  might try and edit that later on.

Cool.

This new one looks more calm, as if he just beaten Korra to the ground and is waiting Raava fighting spirit to extinguish.

And I guess the reason if the Avatar die in spirit form he dont come back is that Raava is destroyed and the human spirit turn the same of a normal person.
