Description

“Warriors are not born into a Tribe. Warriors are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill, and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill and they must always know when it is honourable to spare a life or end it“.

Personal

Personality:

{Honest | Smart | Loyal | Calm | Determined | Fearless | Violent | Cold | Sarcastic | Unforgiving}

{Honest} Obsidia is probably one of the most honest and truthful cats you can possibly know. If you ask her about something she has no problem telling you exactly what she thinks and how the facts are. She doesn’t like lying and in turn doesn’t like being lied to. If she makes a mistake she’ll admit her wrong.

{Smart} Although young, Obsidia is pretty smart for her age. She observes and works out problems in a matter of seconds. Even her views on things are quite different even if many don’t agree with them.

{Loyal} No matter how much her Tribe mates may seem bad she’ll stand by them till her last breath. Her Tribe means everything to her as do her friends. If they would to be harmed she would stand up and fight for them.

{Fearless} Faced with challenges, danger or even an enemy, you can bet she'll stand her ground and fight till her last breath. Running away is definitely not an option for this strong willed and spirited she cat. Nor is being a coward and running away something she thinks is right. Her only one true fear is becoming the violent and dark cat she knows she is and failing to be better than her father.

{Determined} She never gives up on anything she sets her heart and mind on. If she fails she'll try again and again to get whatever it is right. They way she looks at it is “if there’s a will there’s a way”.

{Calm} Obsidia is a relatively calm she cat. Or more like she tries to be which isn’t always easy. Especially when it comes to her father, Sullivan. But as the saying goes. “There’s always a calm before the storm”.

{Violent} Despite her good traits there is one major flaw she has and fights with every second of her waking moments. Call it an inner demon if you will. And that inner demon is her violent nature. She enjoys the pain and suffering of others and seeks it out every chance she gets though she has no real interest in power. This is actually something she despises about herself and wishes nothing more than to hide it, which she skillfully does by putting on a friendly smile and acting as polite and honorable as she can. Her violent nature most often comes out in her battles and anger though she tries to control it.

{Cold} When she isn’t hiding who she really is most are surprised to see that she is quite cold. Caring nothing of others, including kits. She even doesn’t care if her words may hurt another.

{Sarcastic} Surprisingly she is quite the sarcastic cat weather she’s just joking or being serious. If you tease her she won’t care. But tease any of the cats she cherishes and you can be sure she’ll be shooting off one of her witty come backs or sarcastic remarks.

{Unforgiving} Obsidia is not a forgiving she-cat by all means. Nope not one bit. If you turn your back on her or do something to wrong her or her tribe she’ll never forgive you. Especially traitors. To her being a traitor, no matter what the situation, is an unforgiving act. Loyalty comes before all else. Including love.

Brief History:
Kithood
As a kit Obsidia was never really into playing with her sibling or other kits. Her interests were much larger and fascinating then that. She loved learning of the ways of being a warrior, often trying to sneak from the nursery to go listen to stories from the warriors. She was also a quiet and reserved little she kit. Little did anyone know, however that she was also pretty angry with her parents. She hated that her father was of another tribe and that they never really got to see much of him. She resented him if anything else. Then when her mother got sick and was unable to care for her and her siblings she was nursed by another she-cat which in turn made her resent her mother a little bit. Don’t think she hates her mother though. In all honesty her mother is probably the only cat she truly loves other than her brother Cerul. Although she seems to constantly be mean and resent him she’d do anything to protect the shy tom kit from being harmed in anyway. She worries about him more than Lapis and Whisper her other two siblings and hopes that when he’s older he’ll become less shy and more confident and strong. Although she would never say it to him or any of her blood family, she loves them….well except her father. She’s not sure how she should feel about him. Watch out Shadow Tribe, this little kitty will prove to be a handful!

Apprenticeship
When Obsidia first learned she was joining Shadow Tribe where her father lived, she wasn't at all pleased. She didn't want to be anywhere near the tom that called himself "father". To her Sullivan wasn't a father, just someone who helped bring her into the world. Being separated from her brother, Cruel, didn't help ease her distaste for being where she was. For the first little while Obsidia kept to herself, silently wishing she could be anywhere but Shadow Tribe, however, that's when she met Kakoora, her mentor. He showed her compassion and kindness which helped bring her out of her shell a bit. Through out her apprenticeship he taught her many things. How to fight, when to kill and not to kill, how to be polite, and most importantly how to care about others who weren't her family. In a way he had become the father figure she felt she never had. Orinia was the second Shadow Triber she met. The she-cat was much like her and the two seemed to hit it off right away, quickly becoming friends. Little did anyone know though, that the more she grew, the more a darker, violent side of her grew out of her hatred and resentment for her father. This is the side of her, she knows is there but fights constantly to hide. She doesn't want to be consumed with it but it's getting harder...learning of how Kyle, her brother, left the tribe's had hurt her deeply. Out of her siblings he was the one she cared the most about and contently worried about silently. With him gone she felt completely alone despite the few friends she had managed to make in her new home. Instead of letting it get her down however, she pushed herself harder and continued her life as an apprentice in order to keep her anger at bay.

Adolescent
When the Caimen attack happened Obsidia lost her mother which through her completely over the edge. Regrets of not talking to or seeing her since leaving her Tribe to join Shadow Tribe plagued her heart, causing her to hate herself. She had been cruel and hard on the she-cat and now she would never get the chance to say sorry or tell her that she loved her. Thoughts of Kyle returned to her, causng her to want to go find him to find out why he left and possibly convince him to come home. She would tell him of their mothers death and than come home. Instead of going on a patrol like she was supposed to, she met up with Kakoora to tell him she was leaving but would return once she found Kyle. It had been a hard parting but she made it through. On her journey to seek out Kyle, she got into a fight over prey with a loner which earned her, her first scar. And also revealed a much darker side of her she never knew she had. As she stood over the dying loner she grinned, enjoying the life leaving his eyes and how his blood seemed to turn the snow crimson. It was a thought that had frightened her enough to vow never to speak of it.

Prior To Adulthood
RP with Ree-an:
Walking along the crisp ground, a almost blue furred tom came to a halt. This said tom was alone, the two companions that often traveled with him where asleep in the den they had chosen for themselves. Slowly and swiftly Kyle moved across the frosted ground, winter was here, and prey was becoming harder to find. Lifting his head to the sky, the odd-eyed tom paused for a moment, winter... the last season he spent with his family and friends in the nursery... So much had changed since then, he had left the tribes, gained new scars... so much change. Kyle shook away the nostalgic thoughts and continued onward into the undergrowth.
The dark she-cat hissed as she once more missed her prey. It had been a long while since she set out on her goal of finding her brother and now that winter was here, her task seemed to growing that much harder. Being a dark cat against the white made it difficult to hunt the scarce prey she found. As if to remind her of that, her stomach growled loudly as she sat down with a huff. "GAH! why can't I do anything right!?" she said loudly. It was times like this that she missed home and Kakoora and Orinia.
A sudden outbreak of noise made the Gray-earth grind to a halt... a voice? Can't be, there hadn't been anyone around for moons. Slowly Kyle began moving in the direction of the noise, "Could be prey... or worse, a Fox. If it is a fox chasing it off now will make hunting easier and ensure that Sound and Echo are safe..." The tom mumbled to himself, he picked up his pace slightly after the thought hit him, if it was a fox he needed to get rid of it! One almost killed him the first moon he stepped into the untamed land, he wasn't about to let another get the better of him.
Taking a calming breath Obsidia stood back up and shook herself. Alright, Obi. You can do this. You just have to be- She started to think to herself before she spotted a mouse scurrying out from under bush. Grinning darkly she dropped onto her hunches and moved herself down wind from the tiny creature before creeping towards it. I'll get you this time! Just as she got into range to strike, hurried paw steps in the snow reached her ears and she froze, eyes widening. Oh, no. no. no please don't run- she begged just as the mouse was alerted and darted away. She made a desperate leap for it but missed, landing face first in the snow.
He was definitely close, he could hear something making one hell of a racket a few feet ahead of him. The odd-eyed tom crouched low behind the bush he came across, it was too dense to see through, but he could make out dark fur... very dark fur. I have never seen a fox with such dark fur... He thought to himself before shaking his head. Kyle slowly moved through the bush and as he reached the other side he stood at his full height, 14'' to be exact as he realized it wasn't a fox, it was another cat. While he didn't move closer, he also didn't move away as a familiar feeling hit him like a rush of cold air. "Hello... Might I ask, are you ok?" He didn't know why he asked, normally, he would have stayed silent, but this time was different.
Groaning the she-cat pushed her front end up off the snow, snow clinging to her chest and face. When an almost familiar voice drew her attention to a fairly big tom, Obsidia was momentarily distracted by an odd feeling of recognition before anger took over. "No, I am not okay!" she hissed and shook herself once again, as she stood up and stalked towards him. She was angry and it was in the set of her shoulders and emerald green eyes. "You just cost me my breakfast! Heck, my lunch even!" she continued on, voice rising. She wasn't in the slightest afraid of this almost blue grey tom, and she was more then willing to fight him if the opportunity arose.
What Kyle didn't expect, was a sudden outburst of rage from the stranger which only a few moments ago was face-planted in the snow. Flattening his ears against his skull, the tom slowly looked the cat up and down... he looked, familiar? Nah... "Well, excuse me, I was also looking for food when a sudden clumsy tom started making a racket, scaring all the prey within a mile off!" The odd-eyed tom retaliated, even with only one good eye he could still look fierce, though that's not what he was aiming for. "Before you start shoving the blame around, take a look at your own mistakes." He grumbled turning to leave, he wasn't in the mood to fight, especially with an aggravated failing hunter.
Having not been expecting to be talked back to her, Obsidia shrank back a moment in surprise before kicking snow at him when he turned away. "Tom? TOM? I'm a she cat you mouse brain!" she replied, even more angry before. "And I haven't made any such mistake until you came waltzing by. Or maybe that eye of yours is blinder than you think!" She wasn't going to let him get away with that tom comment in the slightest. In any other circumstance the comment wouldn't have bothered her but with her growing hunger and exhaustion of looking for a brother she probably wasn't going to find, she was in no mood to keep a check on her anger. For the first time in her life the side of her she had worked so hard to hide away and keep secret was beginning to show its ugly head. Her angry outburst was only the start.
"She?" The gray-earth paused at that, this cat was a she? Why did that... not surprise him? Kyle blinked for a moment before slowly turning to face the dark cat, he could see she was getting angrier and angrier. "Blinder? In a few season's time I won't be able to get any blinder... I apologies for causing insult to your gender, but maybe if you was as good a hunter as you are a shouter you would have caught something by now?" He replied, a slightly angry tone making it's way into his voice, the comment about blindness really did bother him, one day he wouldn't be able to see the sky... Coud. "I'm a patient cat, but you should really watch what you say, not everyone is as calm as me, and they might...start losing that patience." He ended with a low voice, as he lowered his head to emphasis his point.
"Yes a she" she replied hotly. "And why should I forgive you, mouse brain? Not everyone s a good hunter you know. Some are actually better at fighting. I'm one such cat and if you would like I'll prove it to you". She smirked than, a dark malicious gleam sparking in her gaze. "In fact, it would be my pleasure. I always did like kicking furry butt. Guess if there's one thing I learned from my mentor and father back home, it was to fight. Oh how Kakoora and Sullivan would be proud....not that I care what my "father" would think". She knew she was rambling a bit but she really didn't care and she was really hoping this tom would fight her. If he didn't attack her soon she was going to make the first move.
Kyle's anger quickly turned into a sinister grin, lowering himself to the ground he sneered at the opposing cat. "Your 'mentor' obviously never taught you manners like mine taught me..." He almost laughed until the name of one cat hit him like a rock. Sullivan. A name that didn't hold fond memories... but a name which was one of a kind to him. "Dad?" He suddenly blurted out, returning to a standing position before gazing at the cat before him once again. Everything came flooding back, dark fur, a tom-like appearance, a shadow tribe tattoo..."Drift!"
Obsidia's smirk turned into a full on grin as she followed suit and lowered herself into a combat stance. "Manner's aren't my forte" she replied rather proudly. Just as she readied herself to make her first attack, the tom's next words froze her in her tracks. Blinking in surprise she stared amazed at the tom before her. The feeling of recognizing him rushed back to her and the more she stared at him the more it dawned on her that she did know him. "Drift!" The mention of her kit name only confirmed the hope that lit her heart. Drawing back in shock, Obsidia righted herself, eye's widening as she looked the tom over. Now that she wasn't so angry she recognized him even more despite the obvious changes. "Kyle?! Is that really you?!" she replied amazed. She already knew the answer but she needed to hear him say it.
"It's me... How did you find me?!" Something flooded his feelings... happiness, relief. Kyle instantly dropped all hostility and rushed over to his sister, rubbing his cheek against her's, he could feel something like tears building up in his eye but he refused to shed them, he had changed, he wasn't a weak kit anymore. "I can't believe it's you... you came looking for me?" He asked, drawing back a little bit to look his sister in the eyes, this was real, he wasn't dreaming... She was really here, but why? Her tribe, her friends... her family? ...Had she really left it all behind to find him?
The sudden show of affection took Obsidia by surprise but after a short hesitation she rubbed her head against his cheek in return. Being as she didn't usually show affection it was a little awkward for her. When he stepped back from her she sat down and smiled, sheepishly. "It took a long time to find you. I heard you left and...I didn't want to believe it. I thought you were happy in the tribes but I know, now that, that can't have been true. You wouldn't leave those you love behind. A lot has happened and I don't even know if the tribes are still safe but I left to find you to get answers. I wanted to know why you left. I felt I needed to know since your really the only family I felt...any connection to" she answered. "You know me. I'm not exactly close with our other siblings....And mothers gone". It was hard trying to explain everything so she did her best and if he wanted to know anything she knew he would ask.
A pang of guilt rushed through Kyle's body... so many times he had felt anger, at himself and from other cats even though he couldn't see them, at his sudden leaving. "I'm sorry... The tribes... they where not my home, after Ross died, and my leader vanished I... I stopped believing in the spirits, I still felt bitter about mother... I wasn't with Coud any longer... or even you." He murmured looking down at this paws, "I felt so out of place, like I wasn't meant to be in a tribe... Since leaving, I have felt like this is where I belong... Though I missed you and my friends, I'm waiting for two of them... but I... I don't think they are coming." Kyle would never had admitted it, but he started to believe what Echo had once mentioned... maybe Coud wasn't coming after all? Nothing prepared him for what came next. "Mother... is gone?" The gray-earth felt something stab him, stab his heart, he wanted the chance to make things right with his mother, had Firo given her his message? Gone? But... I didn't get to say that I was sorry... or goodbye.
Obsidia nodded and than looked away, shuffling her paws in the snow slightly. "Yeah...I feel terrible for not talking to her. I haven't since I went to Shadow Tribe...but she made this necklace for me...and Palette...a friend of mine, gave me it" she replied softly. "And I don't blame you for leaving...I just...I felt so alone once I knew you were gone. I don't get alone well with others...I never have. Well except Kakoora who's become a father to me and Orinia..." She wanted to tell him more on their mother but she didn't really know much more than that so she just told him how she felt about him leaving even if it bothered her to talk about her feelings. "But I'm glad I found you and know why you left...I can go home now knowing that it wasn't because you were exiled or anything..." she finished. It was true. She had accomplished her mission and now it was time to go home. At first she had intended to try and convince him to come home with her but how could she if he felt that the tribes weren't home? Staring down at her paws she couldn't help the disappointed look on her face.
"You're going already? But... I..." The blue-gray tom murmured but he trailed off. He didn't want to say goodbye, not yet... he wanted to see everyone else, but Sound and Echo... No... I have a better idea, and idea that will work for all of us... Kyle looked up at the sky and began thinking... Sound and Echo where almost old enough to survive together without him... but he didn't want to say goodbye too them either... "I understand... You'd better get going then, night will fall soon." He whispered before turning to leave. "I won't be far behind."
"I have too. I only came to find answers. Answers you gave me. Thank you" She replied and looked back up at him. She made sure to hide her feelings. Hearing his nest words, however, made her breath catch. "You're going to come back?" she asked in surprise. Could he read her mind or something? "Really? If that is the case, why don't we go back together?" Excitement bubbled up in her heart as she leapt to her paws to walk beside him. She would have her brother back!
"Yes... I will return." He replied smiling at his sister. "But first there is something I need to do... So go on without me for now, I will catch up, I give you my word." Kyle felt happiness and sadness hit him at the same time, would Sound and Echo understand? Would they understand... Or would they hate him? Hate him for leaving them? "Don't be sad anymore, don't be lonely... Because I will be there, I will always be there." The gray-earth said, his eyes lighting up for the first time in moons.
Obsidia stared at him then grinned before rubbing her cheek against his. "Heh. I'll hold you to that, Kyle" she replied, eyes gleaming. Relief that he was going to come back with her had her heart soaring with delight. for the first time she had accomplished something she had set out for and in the end was rewarded with her brothers return. With a new spring in her step and head held high, the former shadow-triber turned away from her brother to hunt for food before heading home. I did it Kakoora. I found him and I'm coming home.
He walked, not fast, he didn't want to run from Obsidia... No, he walked slowly, steps feeling heavy as the task ahead weighed on his shoulders, he could only hope that Sound and Echo would understand... Kyle picked up his pace with his friends and family in mind... Iris... Firo... Coud... I'm coming home... Were you waiting for me?

Adulthood
After having returned home from her short leave of the tribes, Obsidia quickly learned about an up coming battle with some monsters called, Caimen. In the days leading up to the battle she met a few cats, some old friends while others were new. Kooken, being one such cat she met, quickly befriended her and soon fell in love, however, due to her own personal beliefs and past with her resentment for her parents love, she doesn't quite know what to do about her own feelings for the Light Tribe Tom. Guess she'll find out what the spirits have in store for her soon enough.
