Here is a meme that I did featuring my list of Top 10 favorite video games that I like to play. After seeing a similar meme being done by my good friend :iconshinragod:, I was in the mood for doing one of them myself as well. When I was figuring out which games to include on the list, I decided to feature ten of my most favorite video games that I usually find myself playing all the time. For each game that I featured in this meme, I was able to include an image of the game as well as a different colored background to suit the system that each game was released on; The games are also listed from left to right and bottom to top, with the game I chose as #1 on the lone space at the top. To make the list fair, I've decided to include only one game per series, not counting crossovers and/or spin-off titles. Thank you, and enjoy!

#10 - Star Fox: Assault (Nintendo Gamecube) - This game happens to be my most favorite title of the Star Fox series, mainly because it was the first game in the series I've ever played, even though I did remember all the other games being out before it. This game features much of the same space-shooting action of the first two games, and it even features levels in which the heroes are able to shoot their enemies on foot and/or a Landmaster. The cast of characters who appear in this game are just as appealing as they've been in the previous games of the series, with Krystal being a member of the Star Fox team, and the Star Wolf team having a new member, Panther Caruso, who takes the place of Pigma Dingar. And also, the NES version of the arcade game "Xevious" is also featured in this game and can be unlocked, so it's sure to please fans of arcade-style shooters as well.

#9 - Disney Epic Mickey (Nintendo Wii) - In this game, everyone's favorite cartoon star, Mickey Mouse, ends up getting pulled into a world of forgotten Disney cartoon characters by an evil monster known as the Shadow Blot. While in this strange new place, he's able to meet Oswald The Lucky Rabbit, who happens to be Walt Disney's original cartoon star before Mickey came along. The game features a lot of action-platforming as well as puzzle-solving with Mickey being able to use a magic brush that could shoot paint and thinner at his enemies and certain objects; There's even some 2D-style platforming levels that take place in some of the older cartoons that Mickey originally appeared in, which are also quite fun to play through, especially if you're a die-hard fan of classic Disney animation.

#8 - Mega Man VII (SNES) - This game is one of my most favorite titles of the classic Mega Man series, even though "Mega Man II" and "Mega Man III" are both really great games to play as well. This particular game, which came out about a year after "Mega Man VI" on the NES, features cartoon-like graphics, catchy music, and some of the most awesome Robot Masters for the Blue Bomber to face off against. Like the other games in the series, it offers plenty of challenge for Mega Man fans alike, especially on the game's final boss. Needless to say, the game also features the debut of Mega Man's arch-rival, Bass, who would actually appear in almost every other game in the series afterward.

#7 - Super Castlevania IV (SNES) - This game is just one of a couple titles in the Castlevania series that were released on the SNES, and it's also my most favorite one to play as well. Coincidentally, this game also happens to be a personal favorite of James Rolfe's in the four-part episode of "The Angry Video Game Nerd" that he did involving the Castlevania games. Anyway, this game features the same linear-style gameplay of the first and third games in the series, Simon's ability to swing his whip in different directions and the ability to control Simon's movement as he jumps, which actually makes the game much more well-made when compared to most of the other games released after it. The game is also known for having a really nice soundtrack and Mode 7 effects graphics in some of the game's stages, which still look very nice and impressive to this day.

#6 - Pokemon: Yellow Version (Game Boy) - Even though I love playing the newer Pokemon games to come out over the years (including "Pokemon X and Y", the newest games in the series released for the Nintendo 3DS), I decided to choose this game on my list because of it being one of my personal favorites that I remember playing a lot. The third game of the Pokemon series to come out after the release of Red and Blue Versions, it is known as the game in which everyone's favorite electric rodent (before Pachirisu and Emolga, anyway) is the Pokemon that players get to start off with instead of the usual starters from the other two games, which you actually get all three later on as you progress through the game. One unique thing about this version of the game is that it is loosely based off of the cartoon series with quite a few of the characters re-modified to look like their animated counterparts (including Brock and Misty), even Jessie and James of Team Rocket make an appearance as well.

#5 - Metroid: Zero Mission (Game Boy Advance) - While most people consider "Super Metroid" on the SNES to be the best game of the Metroid series, my favorite one to play happens to be this game, mainly because it is a nicely remade version of Samus Aran's very first adventure on Planet Zebes. Like in all the other games of the series, Samus is able to explore vast worlds while collecting items and power-ups as well as blasting alien creatures to smithereens. There are some really useful power-ups featured in the game that make it quite enjoyable, such as the Power Grip, which allows Samus to cling from ledges and climb back up with ease. Once you beat the game for the first time, you are able to unlock the NES classic "Metroid" to play afterwards, which is sure to please any fan of the series who have never experienced the original game that started it all.

#4 - Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Nintendo Wii) - The Super Smash Bros. games have always been really enjoyable over the years, and this latest game in the series is definitely no exception. Like the other games in the SSB series, it involves characters from popular Nintendo games who duke it out in platforming-style fighting battles in stages set in the worlds of the games that the characters are from. This game has several characters who are added to the roster of playable characters from the previous games, including: Pit, Meta Knight, Wario, Diddy Kong, and King Dedede; There are even a couple of non-Nintendo characters who appear as playable characters as well - Solid Snake (from the Metal Gear games) and Sonic The Hedgehog. With over a ton of features to unlock throughout the game, it will please every die-hard fan of Nintendo, young and old.

#3 - The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Game Boy) - When I was figuring out which Zelda game to include on my list, I decided to go with my original favorite game in the series that I enjoyed playing before I was able to play "The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past" on the SNES, which is definitely one of the greatest games to play as well. In this game of the Zelda series, Link ends up on a mysterious island where he has to collect eight magical instruments that are needed to wake up a creature known as the Wind Fish in order to leave the island. The game features plenty of action and puzzle-solving that will keep gamers on their toes, and I also like the 2D-style platforming areas featured in the dungeons that actually parody the Mario games, which are kinda of a nice touch as well.

#2 - Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (Nintendo Gamecube) - Because I am such a die-hard fan of the Sonic games, I could not resist featuring this game on my list because of it being one of my personal favorite games that I like to play. This game is basically a re-released version of "Sonic Adventure 2" for the Sega Dreamcast, which actually plays very nicely on the Nintendo Gamecube, and it was one of the first games that would allow players to connect their Game Boy Advance to the Gamecube and transfer game data with certain games like "Sonic Advance". Needless to say, this is one of the better 3D-style Sonic games that is still worth playing to this day, especially if you're a fan of Shadow The Hedgehog and/or Rouge The Bat, who make their semi-official appearance in this game.

#1 - Super Mario All-Stars (SNES) - Mario has always been one of the greatest video game heroes of all time, and when I was trying to decide which Mario game to feature on the top of my list, I decided to choose this particular title because of it being a game that I fondly remember playing all the time on the SNES, even though I have played "Super Mario World" a lot, which is still a great game to play as well. I never actually owned a copy of this game until I was in high school, but I was able to play it at my cousin's house whenever I had the chance. In case anyone who's never heard of this game when it was released back in the day, it is mainly a collection of 16-bit versions of the "Super Mario Bros." trilogy games, which all play excellently as they did on the NES, but with updated sound and graphics; There is also a fourth game that is playable in the collection: The true original version of "Super Mario Bros. 2" that was never originally released outside of Japan, which is entitled "Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels", and it is a really hard game to beat as well. I love this game so much that I was actually able to buy a copy of the 25th Anniversary Edition that was released on the Nintendo Wii a few years ago, which I still like to play every now and then.
