Residence: She grew up in the Santalune Forest but now that she’s living in Lumiose City, she frolics around Route 14.

Occupation: Tracker – she uses her heightened sense of smell to find people, pokemon or even lost objects. She remembers smells and associates them with faces or other prominent things she may remember, some people's smells calm her because they may remind her of other things but some smells can also make her quite wary. She's learning how to smell emotion and intent now that she's surrounded by people that she can try to figure out just through smell.She also works as a quite effective personal heater when it’s cold. ; ^)

Appearance: Cari is 6’3” and 210 lbs of pure muscle. The stripes on her coat as a Pokemon translated onto her body as dark tattoos which wrap around her thicker, built form. She has untameable blonde hair that sticks up however which way it wants to, but she once found a hair tie and without knowing how it quite worked or how to put her hair up properly, she just kind of shoved it in her hair haphazardly. 

As a Pokemon, she remains the same height of 6’3” but doesn’t seem to realize how large that is for whenever she wants to cuddle with her friends. Her body temperature also rises as a Pokemon and added with her soft, dense fur, she is able to provide the same amount of warmth (if not more) as a heater.

Cari is very easy-going and positive, always ready to start the day running and shouting enthusiastically. She’s always trying to motivate the people around her to do things with a lot of exclaiming and nudging, but she can also rather selfish. Because she never really had much or any social contact as she was growing up in the forest, she generally deals with everyone in the same way but doesn’t realize how emotions can be quite complex.

Having lived in a forest for most of her life, she is very active and has a lot of pent up energy if she doesn’t have an output for it throughout the day. This then leads to a lot of persuading to run around or do something fun and forgetting about important tasks at hand. She tries her best in whatever she does though, and one may even say that she can try too hard at some things. (Beware asking her to do something that requires physical strength, she will probably overcompensate and things will break.)

With all of the new people she’s meeting, she finds herself being rather clingy to the ones that she connects with most. She won’t hesitate to deposit her large self into people’s laps or just sprawl on top of them contentedly. Now that she's found people that she's attaching herself to, the fear of being alone is also more prominent. She never had a problem with it before, but they say you never know what you're missing until it's gone...

She’s basically a huge puppy that may or may not be endearing in certain situations.

However, despite this, she still grew up learning very strong morals from her mother that have stayed with her even now. She knows what’s right from wrong and is very firm in what she believes in, going to certain lengths to enforce them. She also tries to be as helpful and optimistic as she can! She loves helping people, and probably would have ended up being a guide dog if she hadn't been taken from her family. When she's excited she has zero care for her surroundings but she always takes care to give extra thought to the people around her, placing their safety before hers.  

History:

Cari was born in a stable household in Lumiose City with a father who was more focused on work than on his family and a mother who was a retired force dog. Her mother took care of her and made sure to train with her as a young growlithe pup. She remembers her childhood mostly as being warm and sunny, the voice of her mother lulling her to sleep, baking sweets as the last of the afternoon sun dissapeared, running around in the forest, chasing after a scent that she swears she can still remember to this day. It wasn't a perfect childhood, but she tries to keep the positive memories more prominent so she won't forget them.   

She doesn't forget how one day as a young growlithe, Cari had been tagging along with her mother, curious as to the work she used to do. It was by mistake that she was there on that day at that specific time, but there was nothing that she could have done. Their owner, who was a police man’s son, was just practicing patrolling, a perfect opportunity to bring an untrained pup along, but some pokehuman thieves snatched Cari away and brought her to the nearby forest. They had recognized the son of the police officer and took the opportunity to try and get some an upper hand with the growlithe. They wanted to exchange the pokemon to get as many dittechs as they could to sell them on the black market, but couldn't have anticipated for how much Cari struggled. She wouldn't stop moving or swiping at them if they got too close, and even took a bite out of one of their arms when they had grabbed her scruff.  

One night when the thieves were sleeping, Cari managed to squeeze her way out of her restraints, having gnawed on them for the month that she had been taken for, grabbed the bag of dittechs and tried to run off. She didn’t make it far before the thieves woke up and began to chase her. In panic, she took a dittech for herself, hoping that it might help her. With her human legs, she was able to run and hide deeper in the forest and when she woke up in the morning, she didn’t dare try leaving the forest and so continued in deeper.

She survived for a few years, learning how to keep herself alive and use the forest to her benefit, but it wasn’t until she was 19 that she managed to find a fire stone buried under some roots while she was searching for food. Becoming an arcanine gave her a new sense of strength and confidence for how she was living and she became quite comfortable, living by herself in the forest and doing whatever she wanted.

It wasn’t until one day that she caught the scent of something that seemed familiar, but that she couldn’t place. She was curious and enthralled enough that she followed it all the way to Lumiose City and found a man that smelled like home. And so logically, she instantly attached herself to him but is hesitant to bring the topic up.

Additional Info:

She was living by herself in the forest for around 14 years-- but she's pretty quick at picking things up and just has a vocabulary range of mmmmaybe a 16 year old

She's very good at survival and hunting and she basically treated everything as a really fun game to survive and relied on her instincts (running at her prey with fire teeth and feral eyes can be very convincing)

She hasn't taken that hair elastic off in a long time

Reus (jejunity.deviantart.com/art/PM… ) - The man that smells nice. Very comfortable with his presence, he's very soothing to her for reasons she can't quite explain herself. Takes any opportunity to cuddle and display how much he means to her.

Argent ( sounri.deviantart.com/art/pma-… ) - Good height for splaying self on top of even while standing. Also smells like sky, calms her most of the time.

Gil ( feelingwhimsy.deviantart.com/a… ) - Playmate!!! Loves watching him do his tricks and tries to get him to teach her whenever possible. Do not get in close proximity if they are together outside it generally involves high speed or wrestling. Smells warm but foreign spicy, makes her sneeze sometimes.

Fern ( colatechi.deviantart.com/art/P… ) - Very careful with !! Smells like flowers and sweet and nice, always asks for pets and belly rubs. Communication is somewhat difficult since Cari has a lot of difficulty reading and Fern can't...hear........

Blaise ( dennymushii.deviantart.com/art… ) - Plant boy ! Cari is mostly disappointed he runs away from her, but his smell reminds her of the forest and she just wants to be friends : (

Eilam ( corykatze.deviantart.com/art/P… ) - Slighty nervous around. .  . Tries to keep quiet around him and feels like she has some obligation to make sure he doesn't fall over or trip over anything but mostly just too scared to stay in the same room as him for more than a few minutes.

Role-Play Example:

The minute the first ray of sunshine hit her face, the arcanine’s amber eyes snapped open from sleep. The next few moments were a flurry of bedsheets as she tried to untangle herself from the cloth, scrambling to her feet, a wide smile already fixed on her face as she bounded out of the room.

The sunshine was particularly wonderful this morning, hitting everything hazily and creating a golden sheen in the main room. Cari took a moment to simply stare out the window, smile stretching lazily before jerking into motion. Her steps were more like little hops as she danced her way over to the fridge, taking out the milk and grabbing the box of the highest sugar content cereal from the cupboards. The others would probably berate her for eating this cereal again, but it wasn’t as if they tried hiding it from her or anything. And the last time that they did, she had found it in less than a minute.

She hummed smugly while pouring the milk into the bowl of cereal, letting it crackle for a bit and inhaling the smell in deeply. 

Aaahh, morning were the best.

And with that thought, she brought the bowl up to her lips and chugged the whole lot of it down, setting it on the table only a few seconds later while smacking her lips. It would probably be a good time to go and run around the city a few times now that she was all energized!! And she would probably be able to finish before anyone else woke up, too.

Grinning, she stood up and stretched quickly, already thinking of her plan of attack, her way of competing with herself. It was a good morning.
