Captivis Info [Closed Species]

Captivis: Derived from the Latin terms Captivus and Captus meaning "Prisoner or Captive" They are also based off of bird cages [gijinka]

History: 

The Captivis were once a thriving and prosperous species thousands of years ago. In fact, they were known as not the Captivis, but the opposite. (Unfortunately the currents of time was very harsh and had lost track of their old species name.) They were most proud of their unique shaped wings that glowed brilliantly in the sunlight that stretched for quite a few meters when opened and were most noted for their beauty, voice, speed, and adept instinct. They obeyed no one and were actually very full of themselves. They were self-proclaimed as the alpha species. 

It took several decades, but the kingdom of the once proud species had been overthrown and enslaved. The outcome of the final war was rather harsh. As a lesson to the high-strung species (and to demoralize them) the victors of the war ended up mass murdering a majority of the female Captivis. This was in order to control the population and to strike fear, showing the Captivis who the true 'Alpha species' was. This was the most effective method of taming prideful species.

Today the Captivis is now known as the cursed and unfortunate, living as slaves for the rich and wealthy. As a baby, one of the Captivis' two wings are clipped off as a symbol of loyalty to their master. Through the results of time, their wings shrank to what you now see today. As part of the Captivis' loyalty ritual they only reveal their voice to their masters since it was once told that if you heard the lull of a Captivis voice, you would fall enchanted with such a being. As slaves, they put their inherited bloodline skills to work as assassins or mercenaries.

Ears:
Ear shape, size, and color vary.

Height: 

Height varies.  Males are commonly much taller than females averaging 5' 9" to 6' 2". Females range from 5' 4" to 5'7"

Life Span:

Captivis usually outlive their masters. It's common that a current Captivis has been passed down 1-2 generations. They may live to about 200-275 human years. 

Abilities:
Captivis excel in speed and dexterity, making them the most effective assassin/mercenary types.

Female Captivis are a very rare species

Female Captivis are usually veiled unlike  males. In addition to their enchanting voices, it is said that female Captivis are extremely beautiful. Just a glance of their beauty will send the onlooker into a trance. They are often referred to as Succubus for this trait.
