Description

Orcas in the wild are torn from their strong family bonds when they are still young enough to be broken and starved and made to do the same show every day of their captive life for only a handful of dead fish. So places like Seaworld and other such places can keep them in small, shallow, shapeless tanks. In this life they only live up to 20-25 years. and are emotionally and mentally starved of what the wild Orcas get. In the wild Orcas have over 100 miles to swim. the young never leave their mothers sides and live up to 80 years old. Never in the wild will an Orcas back fin collapse. Seaworld staff lie to unknowing people every day about how happy their Orcas are.

"Blackfish" is a documentary film about the multiple incidents, including the three deaths, that prompted the ongoing court case between Sea World, and OSHA, the "Occupational Safety and Health Admissions". These 3 deaths, which included 2 Orca trainers, were caused by Sea World's infamous bull Orca "Tilikum." Through a series of interviews with former Orca trainers that worked with, or around Tilikum, and other problematic captive Orca, the film tries to find an explanation for what happened.
