A decade after the first Hearth’s Warming, trouble is brewing in the fledgling nation of Equestria. With fear of the windigos a dying memory, old tensions between the tribes are once again beginning to resurface and Clover the Clever fears for the nation she and her friends founded. Her old mentor, Starswirl the Bearded, has a bold plan to ensure the continued prosperity of Equestria- but is he being completely honest with her? And what ancient secrets lie hidden in the southern woods?

Welcome, Dear Reader, to Starswirl’s Gambit, a new comic fan-story inspired by My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic! My goal is to publish a new page every two weeks until the story is complete.

A brief note concerning show continuity: This story was conceived and written during the summer between the airing of seasons three and four and, as such, does not necessarily account for all new information about Equestria’s history presented in the fourth season of MLP: FiM. While I will attempt to accommodate new information presented in the show, if there is an irreconcilable conflict, the story will be presented as originally written.

Holy cow! This was a lot of work to get set up, but the ship is finally launched and, so far, the bosun hasn't come to tell me about any leaks in the hull. This should be an interesting voyage.
