Rudyard K.R. McLean

Age: Five. And fourteen (Turns fifteen when Mission 2 begins).

Height: 1'5" (And practically perfect in every way)

Weight: 15 lbs

Birthday: April 1^st

Favorite Color: Blue

Favorite Food: Ham. Also eggs.

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Goals in Life: He just can't wait to be king; everyone who was ever mean to him shall be... executed.

Fears: Please... don’t touch him. He doesn’t like to be touched.

Idle Habits: Lifting things up with Telekinesis, sunbathing, napping.

Greatest Weakness: Becomes easily overloaded with psychic power, especially when hit with another’s Psychic-Type move or when being hugged. This seems to short-circuit his brain and can result in mental breakdowns and passing out.

Allergies: Durant bites, Paras bites, Nincada bites, Persian and Espeon forehead beads, Ariados, Kricketot, shed Metapod skin, the wings of a Venomoth, Skiddo saliva, and pink paint.

Heal Pulse - Rudy places both his hands on his target and focuses his energy into healing power. His eyes and bows glow an angelic yellow-white when using this move. He doesn't use it much for reasons that I hope are obvious by this point.
*Psybeam - Rudy brings his hands together to fire a beam of pink energy. His eyes and bows glow pink when using this move. He kind of sucks at it, honestly.
Telekinesis - Rudy uses his psychic power to lift things with his mind. His eyes and bows glow blue when using this move. This is used when lifting Marissa, obviously. Because of his intense psychic power, Rudyard doesn't need to focus quite as much as another Pokémon using Telekinesis might have to. It's his signature move. Apparently people can't breathe or think when this is used on them? Hmm...
Shadow Ball - Rudy fires a shadowy blast of energy at his target, typically from his fingertips. Just like all of Rudy's moves, it won't work if his fingertips are covered.

Rudyard is a young Gothita born with intense psychic power and not much else to his name. He was raised by a Lucario father for the first few years of his life and one day awoke on rocky sand with no knowledge of where he was or where his father had gone. He followed the salty scent of the ocean down to the water, where he first met Marissa beached on the sand. Rudy offered to move the Wailord with his Telekinesis back into the waves, only for her to tell him (in song form) about her dream to travel the world. That, and she was afraid of the ocean despite having lived in it all of her life. This seems to have something to do with "Down there it's dark and slimy and Octillery give me the creeps".

Rather than help her face up to her fears, Rudy decided to take advantage of the situation and help Marissa achieve her dream of traveling the world while he received the benefit of her company, free transportation, and the ability to look awesome. Their travels eventually landed them in Andalusst. They decided to stick around for awhile because Rudy feeds on attention. He just needs to find a good place to park his whale.

In addition to his psychic power, Rudy was apparently born with an ability to break the Fourth Wall. Unbeknownst to him, apparently, nearly everything he says is a reference to something that exists in our world - His above bio alone contains three Total Drama references, a Wall and the Wing reference, a Guilty Party reference, a Smurfs reference, a Dr. Seuss reference, a "Mary Poppins" reference, a "Lion King" reference, a "Wreck-It Ralph" reference, and a typing font reference. His ability to break the Fourth Wall is pretty much a Thousand Year Door reference too. Can he really see into our world, or is he just a compulsive liar? (Hint: It's the second option)

In battle, Rudy prefers to fight by lifting things up with Telekinesis. If that isn't an option, Shadow Ball is usually his next bet. He also has the ability to physically grab onto the shadow of another person and keep them from fleeing battle due to his ability, Shadow Tag.

Rudy was able to pick up a pair of dark blue gloves as a reward for joining the Explorers. The fingertips had to be cut off to allow him to use Heal Pulse, Telekinesis, and Shadow Ball properly, but since the gloves are blue and help him touch people without overloading his brain, he loves them a lot. (As an added bonus, it makes him look like Peter Pettigrew). However, he decided to give one glove to Marissa like a sort of friendship bracelet. As she can't move her arms, the glove was very quickly lost. Eventually, he added decorations to make it as gaudy as possible.

Overall, Rudy means well. He has a sweet heart... It's just buried beneath a crippling layer of pride and selfishness. Possibly this has something to do with the fact that, for obvious reasons, he wasn't hugged much as a child.

Alignment: Neutral Good

Goals in Life: To overcome her fear of the ocean and return home; to find true love

Fears: Submerging herself beneath water or ground

Idle Habits: Daydreaming

Greatest Weakness: Suffers from aquaphobia. Perhaps more accurately, she suffers from thalassophobia - the fear of being in the ocean. Need we also mention that she's incapable of moving on her own?

*Water Pulse - Marissa sends a jet of water out of either her mouth or her spout, flooding anything around. It won't work if she hasn't recently taken in a supply of water.

Round - Marissa sings. Loudly. Very, very loudly. Don't ask.

Heavy Slam - She doesn't really use this move intentionally, but Rudyard kinda does it for her. It's like bumper cars, but with whales. Also don't ask.

Hidden Power - Bright orbs of sky-blue energy gather near her face before zooming towards their intended target. They release a wave of Flying once burst. Marissa's eyes glow brightly when using this move.

A runaway Wailord with a fear of the ocean and the desire to travel the world and find true love, Marissa happily joined up with Rudyard when the young Gothita found her beached and immobile on the shore. Rudyard carries her with his psychic power and occasionally uses her as a battering ram, but she doesn't seem to mind all that much. In fact, she often seems to forget Rudyard's existence entirely due to him being approximately forty-six times smaller than she is. She doesn't have the best eyesight and is rather oblivious to her fellow Pokémon who inhabit the world around her. Strangely, she has admitted to wanting to become a detective despite her lack of observation skills, but she also doesn't seem to have much ambition in completing this goal.

Marissa loves to sing, and unsurprisingly has a very powerful set of vocal chords. She imagines herself to be quite good at it. Fortunately no one's ever dared to tell her otherwise, not just because she could crush them with a single blow, but because Marissa is very sensitive about herself and easily upset. She has a tendency to throw tantrums by thrashing and wailing, obliterating surrounding objects and injuring bystanders. Not that she seems to notice half the time.

Despite being oblivious to most Pokémon who come up to her, Marissa can usually find them if she's trying (Her sonar can help her with this). She is quite fascinated by buildings and is always willing to discuss with others what it must be like to be small and fit inside those buildings. Marissa has no concept of the value of money as she doesn't see the need for herself, and if she gets her fins on any then you can bet it will be donated on a first-come first-serve basis.

Marissa doesn't like to fight due to the fact that she has the ability to potentially wipe out a small village in under thirty seconds. If for some reason you do dare to challenge her, there's no doubt that she'll go easy on you ... Unless you can give her a very good reason to do otherwise. And this is all if she notices you in the first place.
