People have asked me who my influences are.  I give them a mix of "real" (Peter David, Robert B. Parker, Jim Butcher) and "online" (ArgoForg, Dmuk, Paul Watson) authors.  Now, I can add dkfenger to that list.

As I've stated more than once, I think that dkfenger's Trust Machines series is one of the absolute best things to happen to Inanimate TF fiction is years.  It's a totally original concept that allows all kinds of stories to be told.  If you haven't already done so, you should immediately go to his DA page and check them out.  dkfenger.deviantart.com/

A while back, he took my "Til Midnight" stories and ran with them, creating four stories (so far) to my two.  So, to return the favor, I asked if I could write a story set in his Trust Machines universe.  He agreed, and here's the results.
