Edit 2: Further tightened the crop and fixed some of the color issues. Removed the black bit on the sharks fins. Removed the third shark. Other minor changes. Thanks for the feedback!
Edit: Better crop, improved contrast in sand, added third shark, removed sticks. Other small changes.
I promise I won't become someone who ONLY does mermaids...but I do have a couple other ideas involving them (despite halfway through doing this one I had the opposite feeling and was completely over them).
This one was done pretty much solely for the tutorial and to test out my fancy new tablet. I had an idea to add self inflicted slashes all over her body that were bleeding out, which draws in the sharks. I might go back and play around with that idea more...

Vision Originality Technique ImpactThis majestic art shows me a different - maybe parallel universe - Ariel the Mermaid. It's more darker, and the red color - symbolizing blood I presume - is very balanced with the aesthetics here. I say this is a real art that took maybe at least one week of creation. By my own opinion the only strange thing for me, are the sharks here, they seem so tiny and cute in the pressence of this majestic evil/mysterious mermaid creature. Maybe that's the point though, maybe the artist wanted to create this atmosphere, giving us a kind of message, like "These are not the only fear you must have when you are underwater..." or something similar like that. I have to say, I've seen a lot of artworks here, most of them are perfect, this art is also perfect.
