What we will look for:
Story. We'd like to see something more than just cut throat killing in your entries. Give us some well-paced character development, make us feel invested. Accurate representation of your opponent will also be taken into consideration. While there is no page limit for how long you can make your entry, we recommend against making your story unnecessarily long or drawn out. Length does not equal quality.
Execution. Spellcheck your writing and make sure it follows proper grammar rules. When it comes to visual entries, your lines should be polished enough for us to discern what is happening. We're more likely to be entertained if your entries are readable and have good flow.
Originality. This may be the Hunger Games, but it won't be your typical Hunger Games since it will not feature the District kids as tributes, so show us something different! Don't give us a rehash of the characters we've already seen in the books and movies.
General Rules
1. Don't be a dick. Respect your fellow judges and competitors. If you have beef with someone, take it outside of the OCT group, don't spoil the fun for everyone else. Causing drama will affect how we judge you.
2. Don't submit art that you don't have permission to use. You may commission someone else to draw a reference of your character, but please do not submit any pictures from The Hunger Games movie or fanart of the canon characters from the series. We are not a fan group, we are an original character tournament. If you steal art from another artist and we find out, we will automatically kick you from the group.
3. We allow gore and violence, but we have to forbid sexual themes such as explicit nudity since the majority of the characters in this tournament will be underage. Please consult with dA's ToS for further detail on what is allowed concerning children: FAQ #248: Are there restrictions on art using children or teenagers (fictional or otherwise)?
Character rules:
Your characters must be human.
Your characters cannot be canon characters from the books, and they cannot be related to any canon characters.
Your tribute must be a Capitol citizen and not a District citizen. IF YOU GET THIS WRONG WE WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR AUDITION.
Don't godmode. Your character cannot have any special powers that a regular human doesn't have. Be realistic with their abilities.
No Mary Sues either. Try to make your character balanced in their strengths and weaknesses.
At the bare minimum, character references must show a full body image of your character. Personality, physical descriptions, and character background are also encouraged to be included.
Important Change In Plans
Just because I'm legally dead doesn't mean you people can run my country.
President Imala has been... overthrown.
I'm back in charge, as I very well should be. First order of business: someone get me a body. Now.
Second order of business.
HOW DARE YOU ALL HOLD A CAPITOL GAMES. We're back to picking district tributes. Everyone who's already submitted a reference and audition, too bad- you have to remake everything. The deadline is in three days.
That means the deadline is now Friday, April 8th.
And you have to submit in triplicate. That's THREE COPIES of the references and the auditions in THREE DAYS.
Got that?
Good.
Happy Hunger Gam

Even though the Hunger Games have been abolished alongside the old regime, the country of Panem is still caught in a state of unrest. Tensions between the Capitolites and Districts remain high, with Capitolites demanding their former rights and government and District citizens wishing to silence them. The Capitolites have grown increasingly violent over the years, threatening to make Panem's government crumble once again through riots and rebellion. Ultimately, their angry protests have succeeded in claiming President Paylor's life.

Question: if the rebels did force the children of the capitol to take part in a Hunger Games, would they demand the usual 24 tributes? Or would they force every child of tribute age into one final game for the sake of total retribution? There doesn't seem much point in the lottery if this truly is the last game to be held.
