Team Frostfire Mission 1 part one

It wasn't long after Pharion had met Cuffin that he swore he heard something. A yell? No, that was silly. It was probably just two people having a shouting match or something. He was getting a feel for the streets though, he could tell which street he was on now without checking the signs, and he knew that the market street was to the left. The bakery, full of fresh breads, was a little further past the market street. Hold on, did the ground shake for a moment? Maybe some heavy pokemon were walking around. Pharion trotted through the streets, Lilac tucked comfortably into his mane, still confident that everything was fine...up until that the ground shook again, and he noticed people hurriedly heading in the opposite direction en mass. This....was a little too much for even an optimist like him to put off as a normal event. A large pillar of smoke soon billowed towards the sky, and the pokemon that fled past him only seemed to grow more and more panicked. He began to weigh his options. He could join the fleeing pokemon and get out of the city, no need to take pointless risks after all, and he had a sleeping passenger as well. This would simply not do!  However....he had already had his heart set on becoming an Explorer, someone to protect the citizens! It would make Lilac so happy to wake up and be surrounded by a group of happy faces, and potential friends! The choice was easy when he compared the two, he'd defend the city! But what to do about Lilac....well, he'd figure something out.

Pharion ran past the crowds of pokemon fleeing in the opposite direction, some of them protesting loudly as he lept over them, others questioning his sanity. However, he could also see a number of other pokemon trying to lead the crowds and keep a mass panic from breaking out. They must have been other guild pokemon, Pharion thought to himself as he kept running. However, something caught his attention. He heard a blast of water fire from one of the rooftops. He looked up and saw a Floatzel holding a pokemon he'd never seen before; he was holding that pokemon like a weapon, if he had to be specific. Beside that Floatzel on the roof was a Buizel and an Octillary. Why did that man have a kid with him? What was he shooting at? He had many question, bur a sudden idea quickly formed in his mind. Surely they could hold onto Lilac for a moment while he investigated...or better yet, fill him in.

Pharion pondered trying to jump up there will him, but quickly put that thought out of his mind, He wasn't exactly the lightest fellow, after all, and he didn't want to cause any damage that he didn't have to. "Hey! You up there!" Pharion called out. "Mind helping me out for a moment?"

The Floatzel looked down at Pharion, somewhat confused at what he was doing there. "A little busy here, mate." He said. "If you need something, make it quick."

Pharion nodded. "Do you think you could take care of this kid for me? I need to go check out what’s happening."

The Floatzel paused, and grinned. "Ah, a reinforcement? You wouldn't happen ta be thinking about a career with the Explorers, would ya?"

"Ah, yea actually! Is this an explorer problem?" Pharion asked, his tail wagging a bit, figuring the Floatzel must be an explorer as well.

"You could say that." The Floatzel said. "We take care of our own. Help us and we'll take care of your kid, and if ya do well, you're in. How's that sound?"

Pharion grinned and his tail wagged faster. "Sounds great! I'm Pharion, who are you?"

"The name's Cassidy, nice ta meet ya mate! Now head that way, the other leader's fill ya in." Cassidy said, and gestures towards the tower of smoke, and hopped down, landing on Pharion's back. He carefully scooped Lilac out of Pharion's mane, and lept back to the roof of the house, and laid him down. Pharion ran off, and the Buizel knelt down next to the Cubchoo.

"He's sleeping so peacefully..." The young Buizel murmured, lightly petting Lilac.

"Yea, some people can sleep through anything when they feel safe." Cassidy explained, and picked up his partner again, and readied another shot. "Those two have something special, that’s for sure."
