Literature Text
She wears a wreathe
crafted from seagrass and kelp
on the crown of her head,
draped with luminescent bronze hair.
She wears a chain of pearls
each glossed with illustrious nacre,
a single string of thread holding strong,
with a lone abalone shell, burnished to perfection—
no, beyond perfection.
Just like her.
The sea loves her,
nearly as much as I,
and is unwilling to relinquish her;
unwilling to let her be mine.
She wears a gown of Adam's ale,
and by God, she wears it well.
It cascades slowly down her body,
and my eyes can't help but follow,
a prisoner to her spell.
But she's proudest of the heart she holds,
my heart she carries in her wake through the deep.
And it will stay with that eternal wake;
with her forevermore,
until I fall to an everlasting asleep.
The sea loves her,
so much less than I,
yet is greedily holding her,
unwilling to let her be mine.
So I will go to her.

one night stand
Inspiration kicked me out
of bed, threw my
clothes-
said, I'll call you-
and moved on
to the next.

Dancing on the Sky
He's on fire
Burning on the sky
His flames are our blessing
The king of the day
She gently glows
On the night sky
Her cold shine calms our hearts
The queen of the night
Fire and Ice
The Sun And the Moon
So different
But so in love
On the sky they dance
Celebrating their love
Inviting us to look up
And the stars to look down

The human condition of wanting to be everything

The excess skin around

in loose shadows
Across my cheekbones like
A wreath.
And whilst I find myself
unable
To draw open the blinds
Because the light
is too bright
And I really can’t handle
The pane of the sky
With its obnoxious
Blue
glaring at me
With such a joyful expression
I know that lately
I am burning myself out
That I consume one too many
Cans of soda and energy drinks
At 2.45 AM
When the rest of the world
Is static in a hushed
Comatose state
Whilst I frantically try
To achieve something
Because being
Average
Ordinary
Mundane
Is too
