How to: Suggest a Daily Deviation (GUIDE)

Description

A guide + a stamp! :'D

YOU CAN USE THIS STAMP.

Some people aren't sure how suggesting a daily deviation works. I'd figured that I might as well make a guide for it but this is sorta different from the usual articles I do. You can also use this on your profile! :'D

Blah blah yada yada. I know I talk a lot so let's get back to the point.

First of all, you need to know what a Daily Deviation is!

A Daily Deviation is a feature that is shown community-wide to sum it up quickly. They basically are like feature journals.

They promote a deviation for 24 hours. Daily deviations are featured by deviants who are Community Volunteers, easily distinguished by their heart but not ALL deviants who have hearts have the ability to feature daily deviations. For a list of the current Community Vonluteers, check here. ANYBODY can suggest a DD, it doesn't matter who you are. :la:

Daily Deviations require you to note the specific CV of the category of the deviation that you are suggesting. Send them a thumb code. If the gallery doesn't have a category that you can suggest for then you should note Moonbeam13

Don't feel discouraged if your suggestion is denied, occassionally it will happen. If it does, just suggest another piece of art (or suggest it to a different CV; CVs have different tastes so while one CV may not feature it, another one might)! There are literally over millions to choose from. :dummy:

A tip for suggesting daily deviations is to try and suggest to somebody who is undernoticed rather than somebody who already is noticed. Daily deviations are meant to bring exposure to a piece of artwork.

You can also self suggest yourself for a Daily Deviation. :eager:

Before you actually start suggesting, there are some certain guidelines that you must abide by:

:bulletyellow: You can only suggest a Daily Deviation to a deviant if they haven't received a Daily Deviation in the past 6 months. You can check when the last time somebody has received a Daily Deviation is by typing /dds in the url  when you are on their page. It will look like this "username.deviantart.com/dds".

:bulletyellow: Do not send your suggestions to more than one person. It causes confusion.

:bulletyellow: As I've mentioned before, if there is no Community Volunteer for the section you are looking for then suggest to Moonbeam13 .

Most Community Volunteers also have some guidelines of their own, so try reading their page before sending a suggestion.

And most importantly, remember that whatever is featured will not always be your taste. Just deal with it and move on. There is absolutely no need to write out a comment saying a deviantion doesn't deserve a Daily Deviation. It is not only rude but hurtful to the artist being featured and the one who featured/suggested it. So keep your opinions to yourself. The Daily Deviation will not be revoked if you dislike it. Just let the person enjoy their feature, after all it's only for 24 hours. Complaining about it won't make the time go any faster. Daily deviations are given to help give exposure to a deviation and an artist.

Now go suggest some Daily Deviations!

< This URL pattern doesn't work. Is it defunct?

< If so, how can I view what posts may have made it in the present day?

> As I've mentioned before, if there is no Community Volunteer for the section you are looking for then suggest to Moonbeam13. < How do I actually get in contact with this person? Or any "Community Volunteer" for that matter.

As LPSMonsterpawz asks, how do I actually submit a suggestion?

eThere's nowhere that gives me a list of community volunteers, nor is there any indication WHERE the appropriate place to contact them would be considering this post was made way before DeviantArt's new chat feature.
