Project Rebirth - Dessa [UNLEASHED]

Anyways, still trying to draw on my Saturday afternoon, I'm actually finding myself rather restless and incapable of finding the patience to do a clean piece of artwork. So this one turned out very rushed in the finish, sorry! It was also difficult trying to work on this, since this was an old WIP I had laying around for a fair while now, and I only recently decided on the outfit change in-between working on it, so the style is a bit inconsistent with what I presently work with.

Anyways, this character is a further elaboration of my character I posted up a few months ago, Dessa the Serpent (above). This is a form that is shown much later on in the stories I involve in my Earth-4 timeline. As shown in the story summary for Dessa, she is thought to have been created as a vessel to house the spirit of the dark lord, Death Adder. However much later on in the course of her storyline, it's revealed that she has a much greater purpose, which is being manipulated by the Yurian government infiltrated with cult-like activity.

With the wake of the widespread use of "Ultimate Lifeform Weapons", the Yurian government has set in place a fail safe program of their own in case the use of ULWs becomes too extreme. Dessa is used in the program known as "Project Rebirth", which aims to use Dessa not as the vessel for Death Adder, but instead to summon and awaken the spirit of Dark Gaia through Dessa's own body. Project Rebirth's goal is to use Dessa [UNLEASHED] to end all life on Earth as they know it in order to start afresh with the following re-awakening of Light Gaia (the ones in charge are all kinds of crazy, haha).

So Dessa's body is unwillingly housed and transformed by the spirit of Dark Gaia and wreaks all kinds of havoc in the finish.

Design-wise she was fun to play around with. Physically I just needed to make her older, darker and more hardcore with her features. Her outfit is based on an outfit that I bought from RedWulfi which was previously created by puritylf4; reference of the outfit: fav.me/d1reblg. I tweaked it very slightly to suit the character more but overall maintaining the same look. And at the end of her tail, I've replaced her little bell with the head of the Golden Axe, haha. Enjoy!
