Description

Class: Show Jumping
Music: youtu.be/bafruT3H62A
Placing: First Place and RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION :trophy:

Horse: Myxamir
Rider: Gracelyn Foster
Stable: Quicksilver Equestrian

Star! Judges, please note that Myxamir's bridle is custom made and used specifically for her as she's head-shy and strongly dislikes having straps across her face. It has an looped ear brow band to hold it in place and to steer clear of her horn, with two cheek straps that both connect to the bit, providing the control necessary for dressage.

STORY

Gracelyn had the grullo mare saddled and ready to go long before it was their turn in the show ring. She was terribly nervous, something that never appeared to go away.

Maybe it's because we're competing against other Spirit Horses? She inquired.

We'll be fine. Don't worry. Mira reassured her, in the her usual quiet and short manner.

Grace sighed, her mare was right. They'd done well in their previous shows, this would just be like any other. All they needed to do was try their best.

When their name was finally called, Gracelyn rode into the ring, Mira moving well and her eyes alert as they began their course. The mare took all of the christmas colored jumps in stride, ridiculing they're looks as they went.

A christmas tree? REALLY? Mira said with a snort, leaping easily over over the green brush.

"Don't be a smart ass.." Grace chided, steering the mare towards the final jump, a hefty stone wall. Mira grabbed the bit in her mouth and picked up the pace, her strides lengthening as she charged towards it, moving a bit too fast.

I hope you know what you're doing Mira... Grace hissed, knowing all too well she wouldn't be able to hold the grullo mare back.

We have to make up time. Grace. Mira snapped back, pushing off the ground and reaching towards the top of the jump. She pulled her legs up neatly, despite the awkward take off as they flew over the wall. Mira's hooves sunk slightly into the sand, but she still recovered well as they strode across the finish line.

A job well done.

COMMENTS

I absolutely HATED working on this image, things just weren't working, and it looked like absolute crap. I spent too long on an ugly jump, but then scrapped it for the rule of thirds. Many thanks to Silent-Avarice for giving me some critique/advice on how to make it better, which I don't think I did very well.. but I do like this much better.  I fiddled with lighting and some effects and settled on this, which I do actually like.

Hopefully Mira will bring us home a ribbon!
