Description
Falkens Phoenix af Ascendio in Irish Jubilee III
.....
I tried so hard, man. And failed my face off. Was going to draw Celtic knots except I've forgotten how to do it so instead you've got... whatever that is, but that thing on its own was like five hours of WTFery because my brain turned itself off <.< And Phoenix himself is definitely a Fulix today, the Finix ran off and hid somewhere. And then finally I decided it was finished, wasn't really any more I could do with it, and since it was already dark outside and it's easier to take semi-decent photos in sunlight, I thought, maaah I'll wait til tomorrow, we've had such lovely weather it practically feels like summer, it'll be great.
...
WELL IT'S TOMORROW. AND THERE IS MORE SNOW OUTSIDE THAN WE'VE HAD ALL YEAR. WHY SWEDEN. WHY.
Ahem anyway. Have a Fulix. If nothing else, this was at least good practice for me, since I rarely (read: never) draw horses from the front if I can help it, or portraits, and certainly not portraits from the front. I've been meaning to do it for a while, but a) I hate those 10,000 crappy drawings you have to do before you get anything good XD b) it's something I feel like I really do need a ref for (especially with the eye placement and the muzzley stuff) and I've kinda struggled to find much decent portrait stock on dA o.O
Anyway, tis a St. Patty's show. I won't pretend to be Irish, but my grandpa's parents were Irish immigrants, so my surname is Irish if that counts?
Also, keep an eye out for Fulix's dad Ascendio in this show Misty's entering him (with a phenomenally nicer drawing, I might add <.<) so it'll be a wee bit of a family affair

Made with colored pencils on probably the worst paper choice ever
Okay, I admit I do like the clover wreath thing
And green is totally his color
I'm done now I promise
