Description
Still several days out from Earth, Az submitted to the test of the Transmogrifier™ to be sure they would be able to assume human form. Initial tests seemed to be successful.
Next up would be to see if Az could pilot the shuttle saucer in this form:

A long time coming, but I finally completed an animation that I can share here. This is based largely on an animation I did a couple of years back, with an improved set (esp. DM's Teleporter!), a tightened sound track, and some cool special effects (again, part of the Teleporter - with some help ).
There is also a 3D version which, IMHO, is really cool - but no way to share that here. Requires a TV that can display SBS (side-by-side) mode 3D. If anyone's interested, I could probably post that elsewhere (a bit of touch-up re-rendering going on - that won't be ready for a few days).
This is actually my second such render - the other, which has previews and out-takes all over my gallery, is basically done, but as a couple of folks who've seen the preview know, it has some serious copyright issues with the soundtrack; I've got some great ideas for a royalty free sound track - but that may be several weeks away. (I need to take break - I've been going at this in my spare time for 3 months now - since just after Christmas - this one, just a couple of weeks).
I'm certainly interested in what people think and I'm willing to share how I did some of this - definitely some unconventional/custom stuff going on here.
Video is one minute long, ~25 MB - may take a while to get started. It's 960x540 down sampled from 1600x900. (I originally uploaded the 1920x1080 HD version - definitely TOO large.) Hopefully this one will load and play for folks.

Big sigh of relief!
There is a much improved reworking of this animation, here:
