PLEASE READ!!: I am aware that Himaruya has made a canon Luxembourg. However, I have had this OC ever since 2012 and have done a lot of research, so I am keeping my OC. I am not getting rid of him just because Hima's done some drawings, k? So please don't comment with things like "Did you know there is a canon Luxembourg?" YES I KNOW AND I AM COMPLETELY INDIFFERENT SO CAN YOU NOT. Thanks.

Personality
As a young boy, Luxembourg was already thrown in the lifestyle of wars. He started his life as someone with a lot of strategic value, particularly to the Netherlands, France and Germany, who were his three main figures of influence overall. From an early age, he learned how to think cleverly and work his way through tough situations and quickly rose to being someone with great power in Europe. His royal family was incredibly significant back then, with members of his royal family ruling over the Holy Roman Empire at some point. He learned quickly how to work with other people and prove himself to be powerful, even though he was only a child in appearance at the time. His siblings are Netherlands and Belgium, who he learned a lot from over the years, and whose qualities have influenced his personality.

Most of his life however, he had been ruled by others in Europe, but he learned how to cope well. Even though he was able to endure and do what had to be done, it took a long time for him to feel like a truly established individual. Luxembourg is incredibly skilled at integrating with those around him to the point that he sometimes loses himself in the process. Nonetheless, he'd do anything to keep himself secure. The biggest qualities that Luxembourg developed was charisma, and how to be a smart businessman. He's got a knack for assessing other people and adjusting to working well with them, even if the other person isn't really someone he'd consider being friends with. Luxembourg also knows when to take charge and when to let someone else take the lead, which served him well over the years.

Luxembourg is well established within Europe and has many business connections throughout, as well as with many countries outside of the continent. Back in the day, he used to be very physically strong but nowadays his territory is very small. Because of this, Luxembourg has looked to other ways to keep him a recognised figure in Europe. He is known as the 'Green Heart of Europe' nowadays and is particularly known for his high level of wealth. It was firstly through Belgium that Luxembourg understood the life of luxury, which inspired him to become a much richer nation. He enjoys the finer things in life and he works hard to achieve those things that he loves. Sometimes he works so hard that he forgets to have a social life as well, which he regrets at times. However he knew what it took to get him where he is today, and he knows that he has to work hard to maintain it.

His business persona is much different to the persona he takes on in social situations. This is where his influences from his brother Netherlands tend to slip in. He is more serious and calculating, and he thinks through things very thoroughly. When it comes to tasks that need to be done, Luxembourg turns into a very keen perfectionist and generally takes on the attitude that he must meet and exceed the expectations. In a way he can be very intimidating to work with, but at the same time, it makes Luxembourg a very reliable partner in business. He works hard to get the results that he wants, and will help his co-workers reach the high standards he aspires towards.

However, his social life persona is much more different and it's the influences from France that shine through. Luxembourg turns into a gentleman and becomes much more polite, taking on more 'prettier' language than his blunt business persona would use. He enjoys classy social events that feature the best wines and delicacies. In fact, Luxembourg is rather notorious for drinking more wine than anyone else in Europe. Either way, he believes that he has a very high taste for exquisite things. He considers himself to be a delight when it comes to small talk and enjoys getting to know a lot about other people. Something he wouldn't admit however, is that he prefers to talk about others rather than making the conversation all about himself. He's more proud of what he's accomplished than he is proud of himself as a person.

Truthfully, Luxembourg wonders if at times he comes across fake. Because he keeps adjusting himself depending on the situation, he's never truly sure of what his true self is actually like. Only those closest to him can really judge for certain, but most of the world seems to perceive him as the rich guy of Europe. Sometimes he doesn't really mind if they think like that. Sometimes he wishes that more could be said about him other than that rather simple summary.

There are a few things that Luxembourg really treasures other than his family and friends, his business and his wealth. He has a high interest in history, particularly of the royal families in Europe - like the House of Luxembourg. Even today, the Luxembourg Royal Family is incredibly important to him and his nation's people. He treasures the various castles that can be found throughout his lands, but he loves visiting other castles throughout Europe as well. In terms of his human friends, Luxembourg has come to personally know members of the royal families most closely linked to him and has attended practically every single royal wedding. It would be an understatement to say that he likes the monarchy. Perhaps they are linked to the reason why he enjoys great wealth and power, and why he's determined to act like a princely sort of character.

Luxembourg's attitude is a positive one. It takes a lot to really enrage him, though he may come across snooty when he's feeling unimpressed with someone or something. He's very Europeanised, so he has a tendency to hold members of the European Union in a higher regard to the rest of the world. Luxembourg means well, really, but if he's not in a business situation with the other person, he can seem a bit up himself. He doesn't intend to anger others however, and actually likes it if someone's willing to point it out when he's stepping out of line. It's his inner perfectionist that makes him care a lot about his reputation with other people - if others see imperfections, then clearly something's wrong. In fact, Luxembourg loves having a great reputation with others. He's an incredibly generous person to the point of being the most generous country in the world. Luxembourg likes to be the one to lighten up the atmosphere, and he really does treasure the company of others. If he's not doing business, but he's not socialising with anybody either, Luxembourg can turn into a very lonely person. Perhaps he relies a bit too much on the presence of other people.

Despite the fact that he was incredibly tough during his history, Luxembourg nowadays isn't as physically strong as he used to be. It's something he regrets, but it's not something he highly prioritises anymore. The only sport he really enjoys is cycling, and he joins in the Tour de Luxembourg whenever he can - and he also loves to show up for the Tour de France. In terms of his culture, while he gets overshadowed by his neighbours a lot, he still is regarded as highly cultured. He's been named the European Capital of Culture twice and his capital city is listed as an UNESCO World Heritage site as well. Luxembourg has some great artists and enjoys music, photography and fashion a lot too. One event he really enjoys is Eurovision, which he was involved in with the initial set-up. He also loves literature, with one of his daily hobbies being reading. Luxembourg is able to read books in a multitude of languages as well, and will enjoy discussing them with anybody. He's a sucker for historical fiction, especially if it involves a monarchy somehow.

Overall, Luxembourg is an intelligent businessman who also enjoys an active social life. He is incredibly wealthy, but he works hard to get where he is and stay where he is. Sometimes he feels overshadowed and unsure about who he is, but he maintains his standing in Europe well.
