What is New Voices Wagon Project?
New Voices Wagon Project is a non-profit project based in Leicester, United Kingdom, whose aim is to promote reading and writing among migrant communities. As a platform for self expression and an opportunity to explore the use of writing as a therapeutic tool, New Voices aims to empower and break barriers through stories. These stories are collected and published in various media covering issues to do with immigrants, particularly refugee welfare from voices of refugees themselves. New Voices aims to promote culture and diversity, community development and cohesion through supporting talented writers who would otherwise struggle to make a breakthrough without the necessary resources and support they require. By creating an opportunity to establish a wide network of writers from the refugee community and beyond, New Voices aims to build bridges, promoting better relations between immigrants and the wider community.
New Voices Book Project
The book project has been created by New Voices Wagon Project to give an opportunity for everybody's voices to be heard and to allow everyone, especially migrants, from all over the world to share their experiences.
New Voices would like to hear from all kinds of people with all sorts of backgrounds, no matter your race, age, sex or views. You do not have to be a migrant yourself to participate. If you feel you have something to offer, please consider submitting a piece.
All forms of literature are accepted, non-fiction and fiction, with 1000 words as the word limit. The literature piece must focus on Immigration or Migration.
Please send all submissions to nvwproject@gmail.com with the subject Book Project Submission. All submissions should be posted in the body of the email, not as an attachment. The deadline for all submissions is 30th April, 2014 and this is not exclusive to the United Kingdom.
After the deadline, New Voices Wagon Project will review the submissions and select pieces to be included in New Voices Wagon Project's first publication. If your piece has been selected, you will hear back from New Voices Wagon Project in the first week of May.
As this is an opportunity to be published among other pieces in a book, please make sure attention to detail is paid to grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.
If you have any questions to do with this particular book project opportunity, please ask them in this article. Please also feel free to contact New Voices Wagon Project at the New Voices Wagon Project website or email info@newvoiceswagonproject.com for more information about the Project itself.

Magic Week - Reverse Caption
The power flowed into him, filling his lungs, spreading out in his blood like oxygen, and settling into the marrow of his bones. He felt himself smile in a way that he hadn't since he was a boy learning to cast his first spell. He had devoted decades to the study of magic, but now, now he was magic. A glow lit the trees around him. He couldn't be sure if it was the setting sun, or if the glow came from his own skin. A beetle crawled on the ground nearby, seemingly unconcerned with what it had just witnessed, but yet its movements were in time with his heartbeat. A bird in the sky flapped its wings to the same rhythm. A breeze plucked at his hair and clothes. He began to dance, slowly at first; he followed the wind, and the wind followed him. He moved faster, twirling and leaping, until even the fallen leaves were dancing around him. When he stopped, all was still. He smiled again, and raised his arms to the sky. The first stars were visible. He watched them for a long
