Basic looks: Colouration: Samael is basic in colour, his base colour being black. Most of his body is black except for certain points. His left front toes and right back toes are pure white, the only other colour which covers him. His right front paw going up a ways stopping about mid-leg is white also. His chest, belly and tail tip are also white. The white from his chest comes up to go slightly around his neck in a sort of collar, stopping short of going around his neck. It also climbs up onto his chin, covering exactly half on the left side. His nose is two-quarters black white a quarter is pink on the left side. The insides of his ears are a lighter black than the colour of his body. One of his eyes is bright blue, the other is bright yellow.

Body type: This tom isn't the bulkiest cat around, being more muscular than big. He has a rather slender frame, the bulk he does have comes from his muscles, which can be deceptive since they're covered by fluff. He has a rather deep chest, with large paws. Clearly around his ruff, tail, belly and chest the fur here is longer than most of his body. His claws are quite long, as well as his two fangs which usually stick out of his mouth. Personality:

[ Manipulative ] | [ Observant/Stoic ] | [ Deceptive ] | [ Gentleman ] | [ Sympathetic ] | [ Wrath ]

[ Manipulative ]

Samael may seem like the nicest cat around, but really he's full of ulterior motives. He will do just about anything to get his way. With sweet words or quick claws he will try to hit on a cats weak points to get them to do his biding. Usually he's quite successful, although typically on cats who don't know of him. Because he's practised at this, he's quite use to lying his way out of anything. It's virtually impossible to tell whether he's being genuine or telling another lie to please himself. He isn't above whispering words of wrongful truths to get another to fall under his spell, using whatever weakness they have against them. If you happen to tell him of something you're worried over, like a potential mate, he'll be there to tell you that clearly you aren't good enough and you should give up. Unless it proves to suit him better to push the cat towards confessing feelings even if he's planted those feelings in the cat himself. Liking to mess with others, sometimes he does this just for fun instead of using it to achieve any sort of objective.

[ Observant/Stoic ]

Because he needs information on others that he can later use, he's very stealthy. Happy to stay silent and listen to others complaints. Even if things don't quite go his way, he seems impervious to whatever is going on. It's usually only in times of acting does he show any sort of emotion as he doesn't really care for anything. Although he isn't above being amused when he sees his work coming together. Since he likes to use others, he has no need to give over information about himself. If you do actually manage to get him to talk about himself it's most probably a lie. Since he doesn't want others being able to use anything against him, he'll make up stories for himself. Depending on the cat, they will usually be somewhat sympathetic to create a fake bond with that cat for him to use later. When he's lending a sympathetic ear, he'll be a little more animated but other than that his emotional body language is very limited.

[ Deceptive ]

Tying in with his manipulative ways, he is of course very deceptive. He's the master of giving impressions or fake sympathy when all the while he's planning on what to do with the information. Since he does lies within lies, sometimes he will get muddled up with different cats. Especially those who know of his true nature should they come to learn of it. If it ever comes to that he'll usually try to use his words to escape out of it, although it's quite rare for anyone to figure out how far his lies actually go.

[ Gentleman ]

With his usual emotions coming up to nothing, instead just observing, he will put up a front according to what the situation calls for. Being fake, he'll pretend to be the right gentleman cat to get close to others. Since he puts up a front nearly all the time, it's quite hard to think that he's any other way. With kind words and doing things for others should it benefit him in the long run. Most likely however he's thinking of how disgusting or horrible another cat is. Thinking only the worst of others, he's often thinking of how terrible others are. Especially since he thinks everyone is out for themselves, as he is. Manipulating others for their own benefits, when really it's mostly just him doing things like this.

[ Sympathetic ]

With his thoughts of using others, he'll gladly sit and listen to others complain or tell their darkest tales. Samael will put a lot into his acting, even making fake friendships for years before actually doing anything with it. But since he finds himself unattached from others, there is no true feelings felt for the other. Tying in with his deceptive nature, he'll make up lies about himself in accordance with what has happened to the other so it seems like he's been through the same sort of deal. Even when he's telling sweet lies, he'll still try to sound sympathetic. If he's telling you how much you are dragging down your Tribe, or not doing good enough he'll also be there to say you should just give up as it would be benefit your Tribe. Only doing things for the good of others or whatever happens to be the situation.

[ Wrath ]

There is a side of Samael you'll never want to meet, even past all his deceptive lies and horrible words. There is a great reason he is called Wrath. If you manage to pull the right chains with him, he will show you why. Without feeling, he'll show no mercy to his opponent. He will show no mercy as he attacks, shrugging off any wounds he might receive so long as he deals with his opponent. With calm determination he will attack, with silent malice as he goes for the kill. It takes a lot for him to become this way, as he'd prefer not to break a fake bond and lose someone he can play with. Occasionally mini-attacks will come out if his life is in danger, he will show his wrath to those who have gained it. If one comes upon him like this, it's very easy to become a target or if you are the target, very hard to escape with your life. As he will keep attacking until the job is done.

Brief back story:

This tale starts off as normal as most. Many, many years ago there was a group of cats that had decided to leave the lands of their ancestors. It wasn't a decision that was made lightly, for all their lives unity and pride in their history had been installed in each and every one of them. But now, here they were rebelling against that to forge new lives somewhere else. Although those who made the choice went against their nature, the mentality hadn't changed. Little groups of cats came together, preferring the company when they traveled, just as they had lived in large groups before their eviction. Many cats didn't survive, some turned back, others just struggle through. They didn't know how long they traveled, it had been too long to keep track of with wary minds. But one by one little groups came across a land completely foreign to what they knew. Crossing what seemed to be a large cliff that fell away on both sides, giving way to furious waters, the cats eventually found themselves back on solid land. With last looks to the home they had left behind, these cats went about claiming this new land as their own.

Amongst the fleeing cats, there was a young she-cat who had decided to flee when her brother had made the choice to go into exile. There wasn't anything overly unique that could be told about her. Being young, she was impressionable enough to make use of this opportunity. Sticking with her brother and the group they had decided to become apart of, the young cat thrived. Eventually she ended up settled, finding a mate and becoming a mother.

This brings us closer to the present, still years off, but closer. Curled up beside her mothers body, a young she-cat slept. She had inherited her mothers black colouration, although later when her eyes changed colour they would be startlingly bold with the brilliant gold that her father held. With pride her mother dubbed her, Duana or little black one. Duana's first few months of life were typical, play fighting with her siblings, jostling for position when it came to meals and hunting whatever foliage came into view. However in this new land, the cats weren't too sure how they should raise their young. In the Tribe lands their kittens would stay until six moons of age when tattoos would appear on their pelts and dictate which Tribe they would move to and how their lives would go from then on. Born from this history, new, weird traditions started to arise. When a kitten had grown to the age of six months, they would be cast off from their parents side and sent into the wild to live, to survive. Ceremonies would be held and honour was bestowed upon the young cats as they left to forge their own paths. Duana wasn't expempt from this, as her mother and father learned of these new customs and having been trained into following customs set their young kittens off.

For a start, she stayed close to her parents territory with her siblings. But one by one they peeled off in their own directions. It wasn't uncommon for these young cats to come together to make their own little groups, safety in numbers after all. It didn't take Duana too long before she was taken in by one such group. So this was how she lived for the first few years of her life, living with her group and finding new cats who were cast off with tattoos gracing their features. Although she thrived, many young cats did not. News filtered through to her, telling of how both of her siblings had died. There were other rumours which started to fill the lands as well. Rumours of kittens turning six months and being free of tattoos. It was a wild rumour, one that was thought to be untrue for the horrible consequences it foretold. Being sent off, going through the ceremony, was an honour. It would be shameful to think ones own kitten wouldn't receive a tattoo and go through such an event. There were also the complications of what would happen to that kitten, this ceremony had dictated the cats for generations. From their broken version to that which still happened back in the Tribe lands. Of course it meant nothing to Duana at that time. She had shrugged it off, talking of it only in gossip.

As she struck three years of age, she took notice when a handsome tom decided to join their group. He wore many battle scars, having lived since he was cast from his parents side alone. The tom, who had given his name as Cerin, stayed aloof. Wary of this new comer, many didn't reach out. He was strange to them because of his previous choice of living alone. But Duana took it upon herself to greet him, she couldn't help but be fascinated in the rare tales he'd tell of life alone. It told of just how her siblings must have struggled. The two spent the next year getting to know one another, it was clear to all that they would end up together. So it came as no surprise when Duana began to grow round with the promise of kittens.

So our story takes a turn. The real story now begins. Under the light of a full moon, four new lives joined the world. Each bore a black coat, but one had smudges of white. It's this little black and white kitten whom this story really revolves around. From the start, it was clear he was the runt of the litter. Yet he fought with the most ferocity when fighting for prime spot at his mothers tummy, he would also growl the most when she left them alone. But Duana paid it no real mind, grooming him with pride at his tenacious nature, he was the runt so perhaps he just felt the need to survive stronger than his siblings. It was when the kittens had grown enough that their little legs didn't wobble so much and their milk teeth grew sharper that the first incident occurred. Duana was watching her litter play, her little runt, Samael for once was spending time amongst his siblings. Rykar the oldest and biggest of her sons decided it was good fun to pick on his littlest brother with Taka right by his side. The two, outweighing and clearly out matching their brother began to roll him over, nipping and clawing. Shinane, their only sister, watched with interest. But the two were to learn a valuable lesson. While their bites were teasing, they were soft with play. Samael on the other hand, felt a deep rage enter his body. From his very core he began to shake with the fury that over took all of his senses. A cold determination stole the toms mind, focusing everything he had on dishing out this anger. In the end, Duana had to rush in to break up the fight. Rykar ended up with blood pouring over his face as his newly uncurled ear was torn, the tip bitten off. Taka had suffered a torn claw for his efforts. One might expect their mother to lash out at her kitten, to tell him off for hurting his siblings. But Duana groomed him with the same pride she'd felt at his birth. He had proven himself a survivor, he'd need that later in his life. Her mate however, wasn't too happy with either of them. Increasingly the tom had been spending more time away than with his family however.

As the kittens grew, Samael's siblings avoided their little brother. Which seemed to be fine with the little black and white tom. He would venture off on his own in the mornings, coming back with blood smeared on his pelt at night. Duana only watched on with pride in her eyes, until the kittens grew to six months. Morning brought the kittens out where their parents sat, waiting. Inspecting each of their kittens by turn, a ritual they had been waiting for when their parents had first told them of when they'd gain their tattoos. Rykar bore a little swirl on his shoulder, though it was hard to see against his black coat. Shinane stepped up to reveal a two part tattoo, a little diamond shining grey on her forehead with a little cross over her heart. Although they new these tattoos were important, the kittens lacked the knowledge of why, they didn't know the powers or true Tribes that they had been destined for. This had been lost through the stories passed on by the cats. Taka's black pelt was now covered by grey wings. Next, it was Samael's turn. His bright little yellow eyes remained focused as his parents searched his body for what mark he bore. Nothing on his shoulder, nothing at his forehead or mouth. None spread over his shoulders. Feeling drained from Duana as the realization struck her. One of her kittens had been left out, he was tattoo-less. Just like the rumours she'd blown off years ago foretold. They were both confused and angry, what would they do with their son now? All of the kittens stood dumbstruck as their parents began to argue. Samael felt the deep anger growing inside him again, why had he been left out? This was suppose to be the time he'd go through the ceremony and he could finally leave to mark out his life, alone. Scorn entered his siblings, they looked upon him with accusing eyes. For once they had something to hang over his head, the fear they had towards him put aside as they felt boosted with power over him. This leering went on for days, growing worse and worse as they grew impatient. Duana and Cerin didn't know what to do, so they delayed the ceremony. Maybe his tattoo would come later.

It didn't. No tattoo graced his body. Anger surged through his veins as his siblings became braver, lashing out at him when their parents backs were turned. Samael bore all of his in silent rage, every second was spent thinking on his anger. Finally after two weeks of this it was evident he wasn't going to sprout a tattoo. Duana, once proud of her son now wouldn't look him in the eye. Cerin brought his family together, under the light of the moon that night. Of course Samael sat alone, watching from the den. Each of his siblings gained the pride of their parents, touching their foreheads with their muzzles. Without them noticing, Samael slipped off into the dark. Sending their children off, the two actually found comfort in seeing their black and white son gone. They had no idea what to do with him.

As the tom slipped away into the anonymity of the night, a feeling he knew all too well stole into his body. Usually he'd take his anger out on animals he caught, prolonging their suffering by tearing off wings, or feet before he'd end their lives. But now, now he had other targets. It wasn't too difficult for him to track his brothers progress, the young tom was struggling on his own. Samael watched him for many days, stalking him, keeping just out of sight. Finally, he revealed himself. The tom brought his brother a rabbit, knowing he had eaten for days. Although he would have been wary of his brother, Rykar was too happy for the food. The brothers spent a few days together. Since Samael's hobby had required him to hunt, he was able to catch food where his brother could not. It was a particularly normal day when Samael finally revealed his true intentions. While his brother was busy eating, he attacked. Having not been in many fights before, apart from play, the two fought messily. In the end one brother stood over the other, panting as blood dripped from his maw. It took nights before Samael left his brothers body, mostly from the wounds he'd suffered. But he didn't linger longer than he needed as he sought out Taka. By pure chance he instead encountered his sister. She was shocked to see his condition and with the sweet personality he put on for her, the tom wormed his way into staying by her side. When he'd found her, she was courting a group to join, she knew that living alone wasn't an option. But she'd never have to worry, for it wasn't long before she too was dead. Samael took her life by claw and fang, wanting it to be personal when he could have easily tricked her into eating poisoned food. It took him a long time to track down his last brother, during this time he would fight anyone he encountered, honing his skills and learning. Of course, when he did find Taka his life was soon ended too.

The tom went on like this, picking fights with any tattooed cat he came across, feeling a deep anger towards them. When it suited him however, the tom would put on the charm and join groups when he couldn't catch food, or to learn of different things cats had to share. He enjoyed growing close to a cat, to use their secrets to pit them against one another, or simply to put them down. Of course there were a lot of times he was told to get lost, bearing no tattoo was strange and many wanted nothing to do with him. When the tom was coming upon his second year in the world, he returned home. Finally, he was ready. Finding his mother there, with a new litter of kittens at her stomach, Samael lulled her with words of kindness. She had always loved her youngest, right up until he tore out her throat. Leaving the kittens, he waited. Surprised to find his son, Cerin too was not expecting what happened next. Finding his mates body, their new kittens wiggling at her side as they sought to find warmth where she only held coldness. This was the time Samael attacked, knowing that he would need it to be able to take down his father. Cerin was a experienced fighter, he was large as well. Now, he also had his own rage to use. Their fight was messy, loud and heated. But as it happened, Samael ended his fathers life. Somewhere in the fight his ear had been torn beyond repair, almost resembling what he'd done to Rykar's ear when they were young. Although he'd won, he had suffered. He sat for days recovering, unable to move. Hunger and thirst drove him to finally move, opening freshly closed wounds. Collapsing at a small creek he'd found, the tom stayed here for a week. Of course he couldn't live on water. Luck was on his side however, as a kindly cat put an end to his hunger. Strength returning with sustenance, he healed.

The tom was going to return to his way of living, but he happened upon a group of cats. Unlike those he'd meet before, they too lacked tattoos. Somehow, he became apart of their group. A silent smiling face with malice hidden beneath. He stayed amongst them, sometimes journeying away to keep his skills sharp. After months with them, he finally passed his second year. Apart of their group now, he traveled with them when they crossed over the land bridge. Following them back into Nandryx and to the Tribes.

The tom watched as she splashed around in the water, seeing just how much at home she was in the liquid. He was only here as a guest which was clear in the way he stuck to the bottom, unwilling to get his head wet. But his copper eyes were focused on the she-cat, though he did turn slightly as she ducked under the water to half give himself away as she pounced on him again, much more loudly than she could probably manage since it was just play. As he watched her nudge his paw with her nose he gave a small flick of his tail, the once plump, fluffy fur now cling in lumps as it hung wet behind him, though it flowed out when it hit the water.

"That would work out well, if we decided to make this the place to meet. Although I don't mind traveling further if that's what you wish," he meowed in agreement, having his paws take him here anyway of their own accord than him having to think about taking himself here. Watching the amusement in her gaze and the happy smile across her maw the tom couldn't help but give a smile of his own, glad at seeing her so happy. Not that he'd really seen her sad but the thought wasn't a nice one, after all, that's what friend were suppose to do in his mind. He was going to make her happy at any cost, it was more than worth it to him.

Half rearing back as he pawed at her playfully the tom shuffled his back paws where where firmly at the river bed so that he didn't slip on the slippery rocks or with them shifting beneath his body. Placing a paw onto her head he gave a small flex of his paw while keeping his claws firmly in his paws as he ducked back down to splash up a huge amount of water around them, dropping down in large droplets. "Unfortunately I haven't been able to catch too many birds, although I've been wandering Pheasant Woods to look for signs of them. Hopefully with the warmer weather they will make their presence known," he answered, getting back into the normal rhythm of talking about birds as he normally did. "I have spotted some owls, little owls not like the ones we seen in the other lands," he added, giving a small paw towards the owl feather which hung from the earring about her head. He was overjoyed she had liked it so much as to keep it on her body, especially as a piercing. Giving a small shake of his body which again sent water flying he paused. "If you aren't due back right away, we could go for a wander."
