:The Memories of one Wolf
When had she stepped into the water? With her cranium tilted down, eyes followed the rings of displacement that rippled out and away by her disruption of the calm. Flexing those wolven digits she let her pads sink into the mud that tickled slightly as it filtered between her toes. That regal crown was lifted as orbs of frosted golden fire locked onto the large tree that seemed to watch over the water. Once upon a time that tree had been decorated with the entrails along with the scant remnants of torn hide from the fresh kills. It was a tradition here, one that dated further back than she could recall. How long had it been now? How long since... So long that none of those garnishes remained now, even in knowing what had occurred here there was not a trace to be seen. Her triangular sonars rotated in their sockets, shifting to find a sound that didn't seem very far away. Attention left the tree and began to scan the other side of the lake carefully, that leathery tracker inhaling
