it started with “good night”
and the way you stopped saying it
and I told myself it was because
you were too tired
too weary
too worn

then I stopped being your “good morning”
and everyone else saw you first

I hesitantly sat in the chair next to his hospital bed. I felt somewhat responsible for him being in the state he was in. I knew I wasn’t, but the feeling was something that I couldn’t help. He’d gotten into another street fight. He had been greatly outnumbered and unarmed. I bit back a violent curse. The doctor told me he would wake up soon and make a full recovery. Despite the reassurance, worry gnawed at my conscious.

ha ha and i thought crossrod deal was a great metaphor XD well it still could be. (u know, just for sth u do out of despair, cus it seems like the promising sudden solution to ur problem, while somewhere knowing its just a little too easy.)
