Sugar Pie Age Meme

So I've been working on this for like three days. I actually did this one differently from most of my art. I usually sketch on paper traditionally and then import that into GIMP to line and colour. This time, I did the sketch and clean-up all in GIMP. I used to draw with a touchpad all the time and i just i do not know how i did that dang that requires so much patience ESPECIALLY with windows 8. Anyway.

The freckles look kinda crappy because I was too tired to use the path tool to make a bunch more perfect little shapes so I just grabbed the paintbrush. I'm reeeally happy with the eyes though. I'm getting a lot better at MLP eyes. Now here we go!

Baby Sugar Pie! she's so cute ahhhh bless. I don't have much to say about her tbh...she was basically the easiest in terms of lining and colouring since she's so plain. She's still a cute though.

Filly Sugar Pie is next, with her lil security blanket. She learned levitation at a fairly young age because her dad is a unicorn (mom is an earth pony) and she learned from him. She's about CMC age here, for which the human equivalent in my mind is about 8-9 years old. Sugar was always a very shy filly and carried the blanket with her everywhere, always making sure she had it with her. She never made very many friends, preferring to stay by herself instead. look at her tiny horn.

Teenaged Sugar Pie was fun. Originally, current Sugar Pie was supposed to be a teenager (since I view the main 6 as 15-16, so she was supposed to be the same age), but I decided to change her to her early-mind twenties, so I got to design a whole new cutie for her teenage years. I really like that mane style. The tail is a little wonky, but the mane suits her really well. I kind of want hair like that. Dang. Anyway, her freckles have started to fade by this time, and her eyes continue to get worse with age, so she has to get new glasses fairly often. I don't really know what's going on with these ones in terms of structure tbh...but yeah. She actually started wearing the cape (without the apron) partway through her teen years because she was always very self-conscious and felt uncomfortable walking around without her body covered up, but this is a little before that. I kinda fucked up; the security blanket should probably not be that big. But that's what she has on her back. After she got the cape, she stopped carrying the blanket, but she still kept it. She's my baby.

Adult Sugar Pie is current Sugar Pie. Her body looks a little too short here, but eh. At least I made the effort to have her glasses make sense with the 3/4 rotation. If you look at the ref sheet, they make literally no sense. They don't look all that great here, but at least they're three dimensional, heh. So after Sugar bought her building and began to run her store, she made an apron to go with her cape. And the pocket on that apron was actually cut out of her security blanket. (: so anyway um the bookstore struggles and death metal shows up and starts working for her and they move to ponyville blah blah this isn't backstory time here let's move on.

Elderly Sugar Pie is next! If you look carefully, you can tell exactly which Granny Smith reference I used. I think it came out fairly well, considering I've never really drawn elderly ponies before. I love her tail okay I'm sorry I just really love what I did with that tail. She's still keeping that green fabric of hers. I can't say I really have anything to say in terms of background here, but I'm pretty happy with this panel art-wise.

OKAY this is my lovely baby OC. Maybe I'll do one with Death Metal as well some time in the future aw man yes that would be great I'll add it to my to-draw list. Bye friends.
