“Salutations Kevin.” The ginger groaned a little at the sound of the taller male’s cheerful voice.

“What do you want double dork?” He questioned with a scowl. He was actually pretty neutral with the hat wearing boy, but he knew two others were soon to follow him and he especially didn't feel like fighting with the small louder Ed. With an uneasy smile, displaying the trademark gap, he let out a nervous titter.

“Well I heard about your dilemma from Nazz and she asked that I assist you in your academics to ensure your eligibility to partake in the dance!” Giving a look of bewilderment, the gapped male sighed. “I’m tutoring you so you can go to the dance with Nazz.” As if enlightened the red cap boy grinned.

“Oh, cool.” However his smile faded thinking of Edd’s comrades. “What about the other two? This ain’t a part of a scam is it?” Eddward responded with a quick shake of his head.

“Heavens no. This is of my own accord. Why, the only thing I’ll gain is your achievement.” Persuaded by his words, the green shirt nodded.

“Awesome, thanks man.” Waving him off, Edd didn't see his friends coming behind him.

“Did you just offer to tutor shovel chin for FREE?!” Eddy screeched getting the angry athlete’s attention.

“Well...yes...Eddy. It was a favor--”

A FAVOR?! Why?! He’s a low-down jerk Double Dee.” Seeing that Kevin has his sights of his nemesis, Edd began to sweat.

“Eddy I--”

“I mean what's with him?!” He growled, yet again interrupting his friend. Nazz walked to Kevin her hand on his shoulder. Kevin’s scowl faded into a small smile, chuckling at the blush on her cheeks. Reminded of his tutor, he walked to the three Ed’s much to Eddy’s dismay.

“Hey, come by around five, after practice.” His hand curled around the girl’s waist earning a giggle and a mouthing of thanks from the blonde before they began to leave. Edd grinned happily the warmth of helping others overwhelming him.

“Since when are you and Kevin so chummy, Double Dee?” Ed asked genuinely curious. The proud student shrugged.

“I’m simply a tutor, a reliable source of information if you will.” Eddy scoffed.

“Yeah right. Box-head is planning something I just know it.” Rolling his eyes, Edd turned to leave.

“Of course Eddy. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a pupil to enlighten. Good day gentlemen!” At that he sauntered off.

SEE YOU LATER DOUBLE DEE!” Ed cheerily bellowed while Eddy growled.

“Shut up Ed.”

At precisely five, the doorbell sounded. Kevin opened the door hat missing and his hair damp.

“Good evening Kevin.”

“Hey.” Frowning, he looked outside his door searching for a tall and short pair of Eds.

“I-If you’re having concerns about Eddy and Ed, let me assure you, this is of my free will and they are in their respective homes.” With a final check and a nod, Kevin closed the door.

“Okay, lets get this started.”

“What would you like to start with first?” Kevin looked at his various homeworks before choosing math first.

“Alright then. Let’s see....well you mixed up the formula here. The x actually goes here.” After a few minutes Kevin hardly needed Edd’s assistance on his work and he began to buzz through it, now understanding the formula and how it works thanks to Edd. As time progressed, they revised all the subjects they could, from Double Dee explaining history in a story like way, to teaching Kevin tricks in science in math that will use less time during tests and still give him the right answer. The sun was long gone and both of them got off subject of school and began to talk about Eddy’s scams.

“Despite the stupidity of it all, the things you did for each of them to come to life like that...” he chuckled. “Damn, it was rad. People like you...they get to be somethin’ later in life. Like my dad said: only the few go far.” Edd laid a hand on his shoulder.

“No disrespect to your father Kevin, but he's completely wrong in my opinion. I believe anyone can live a life of security of luxury later in life if they work hard and never let failure take them down.” With a gentle and contagious smile, Kevin felt his own lips curve into a small smirk.

“If you say so. But thanks for the words of encouragement.”  Soon the beanie headed boy noticed the sky was covered in the night. “Oh, I’ll walk you home.” With a gratuitous smile, the two walked out, the crickets singing softly the only sound in the night. The two stayed silent throughout the time of walking to the taller male’s house. However, it felt long and stressful. The two had nothing to talk about after all and they hardly had anything in common other than school and Eddy’s stupid scams. The wind picked up  quickly and before Edd could grab it, his beanie flew off his head and onto the ground. Immediately, he chased after it avoiding street lights puzzling the ginger. Quickly, he grabbed the hat and covered his head whimpering with embarrassment.

“My apologies, what a troublesome hat.” He choked out. Kevin shrugged and looked at him.

“Why do you even have that on all the time?” Even in the dark, Kevin saw that his walking companion began to sweat gently.

“I-I don't like to talk about it. Sorry.” Seeing that they were at his house, he quickly rushed to it. “Good night, Kevin! Get home safely!” Kevin gave a shy wave before he turned to depart, the hat in his mind and what Eddward hides underneath it.

Good! Just so u know sometimes switching up wat u call the characters (taller one, red head, green shirted, etc.) Can confuse some people especially if they aren't super familiar w kevedd. Keep the "name calling", if u will, to a smaller amount might add some flow! Still good work ;)
