"You dare cross the Son of a Shepherd?!"
Rolf was nose-to-nose with Double D, his eyes narrowed to mere slits,
his fists clenched in anger.

"R-Rolf! M-May I ask what on earth you're t-talking about?"
Edd sputtered nervously, holding his hands up in defense.

He gritted his teeth, leaning over his victim as he only shrunk further to the ground.
"You have stolen the love of Rolf! You are hereby challenged to a duel!"

"W-What?!"
You could only watch in confusion and worry, when you heard hysterical laughter behind you.

"Hahaha! Nice goin', Romeo!" Eddy mocked. "Let's see you get outta this one!"
You furrowed your brow, turning around, marching up to the shorter boy.

"You're not even gonna do anything? Your best friend is in trouble!"
In the midst of your scolding, he only seemed to be holding back more laughter, as he wiped a tear from his eye.

"I think you're the only one who can help him this time," You faltered,
looking at him with questioning eyes. "I'm tellin' ya, Rolf's got the hots for you!"
He collapsed to the ground, laughing some more, as you only stood there, wondering how you got yourself stuck in this mess. You'd only been in this crazy neighborhood for a day.

"B-But Rolf... I-I haven't done anythi- I don't think she even- I can't-"

"Cut it out, you guys!"
They both looked at you, as you'd boldly stepped up to a fuming Rolf, something that not many people had the guts to do.
He immediately straightened, as Double D lay on the ground, now propped
up on his elbows, looking up at you in awe.
"What's going on?"

Rolf's expression switched from angry to remorseful, his cheeks pinkening
a touch as you confronted him.
You glared at him, turning around and offering Edd a hand, to which he gratefully accepted and you pulled him to his feet.
"Will one of you tell me what that was about?" Crossing your arms,
you tapped your foot impatiently.

"W-Well, (Y/N), Rolf here thought there was..." Double D cleared his throat, already beginning to perspire. "He thought there was um... something
b-between us..?" He was very flustered by this point, attempting to pull his shirt over his face. 'Oh my god, that was cute.'
You managed to keep your composure.

"Whaaat? Psh! Th-That's ridiculous! There's absolutely nothing between us whatsoever! Nope, never... That's silly! Me... with Double D... What are the odds? Heh" Laughing a la-de-da laugh, you risked a glance back at Double D, and you were pretty sure you felt your heart burst into a million pieces.

He was looking back at you with puppy eyes, incredibly sad and forlorn.
It was clear you'd just hurt his feelings.
