1. to celebrate the finish:
set down my pen
crack my knuckles-
at last the sunshine

working late-
crescent moon balancing
Mars on her head

dog hiding under the blanket
not enough to wake me
a distant roll of thunder

trailing my fingers
along this brick wall
around a house no longer mine

I have never worn it-
the shirt with a picture
that looks like you

after the fire-
in the new apartment
I never smell whiskey

standing at the elevator door-
is learning to read Braille
giving up or asking for it?

cat-bitten
the gasping sparrow
I warm in my hands

standing empty again
