Description

Finalmente, después de algunos minidesvelos he terminado.

The rock, made with yellow melon, orange and coffee to its definition, also wanted to conceptualize the idea of it.

The coloring looks good. The blending is pretty smooth and I like the colors you used.

My biggest critique is the anatomy of the character. The body is way to small for the head, the right arm is a lot longer than left arm, and the shoulders too broad. The width of the shoulders are usually the same length as the hips. It's ok to exaggerate certain parts of the body if you are going for a cartoonish style, however it is still important to keep proportions in mind when designing the body of a character. I say this a lot when it comes to critiques to the body, but it helps to study the body and even take pictures of yourself in certain poses for references. You begin understanding how everything connects together, and soon start to free-hand without having to rely on a reference.

Second is the background. I'm not sure what I'm looking at aside from the grass and sky (and the two planets?). Like what those blue blade-like things in the sky, and the swirl coiling around the character's arm? The rock kinda sticks out in the background, but it wouldn't seem out of place if more rocks were added. As for the grass, the way it was drawn makes it look stiff. Grass is not so uniform. The blades stick out in every direction. Try doing quick, and random strokes to create more fluid and curved blades.

Really all it is, is practicing and studying... a lot :XD: Don't be ashamed to use photo references for anatomy and poses, and when you feel you got the hang of things, challenge yourself by drawing from what you've learned. Same with creating backgrounds.

I hope this helps :)
