Poet said that "to the place where you've been happy, you should never go back." In principle, and from my own experience, I agree.

However, I also believe that nostalgia, served in proper doses, can be a good medicine for the soul ...

Last Easter I went back to the cemetery of Comillas, camera in hand, twenty years later (seems that lately I only write about such things;  must be the midlife crisis).

The first time I remember that I went with my parents; wearing my brand new yashica equipped with zoom lens that would allow me to get closer to the object of my desire, and a lot of inexperience and enthusiasm in my pockets. It was the time of analogic photography and reels of 12 or 24 pictures, so I took a single photo of the model. It was a really short session.

I have been in Comillas many times after that cloudy summer afternoon; is a town that I love, and which I recommend visiting to anyone with a chance to do it.

However, last April 15, I went a little like the first time. Many years has passed, my personal circumstances have changed a lot since then: Now I was accompanied by my wife and daughter, and a wonderful spring sunshined. I like to think, however, that the enthusiasm with which I dealt with the photo shoot was the same as the past, if not bigger.

The session went smoothly, I took a dozen and a half of pictures (by the way, this was the chosen one: fav.me/d7i2gs1 ), we all enjoyed a wonderful evening, and I took the required dose of nostalgia, without that common side effect in overdose, which is melancholy.

And I gotta say that no years go by the model: He remains somewhat expressionless, but very professional, and while we show gray hair and glasses to see up close, he barely has grown a little more moss on his wings...

Here you can see both sessions results:

I’d like to conclude by saying that, in all this time, I have changed at least a handful of inexperience from my pockets for some maturity. But I do not dare.
