Welcome, trainees, veterans, and prospects alike, to the Canine Assignments & Bulletins Journal. It’s here where those of the canid persuasion will go to check up on their various duties. Of course, outside of missions (i.e. activity checks), no one’s required to complete one in any given amount of time, but it will be strongly encouraged that you do so; they’re fun, yes, but more importantly, you receives rewards for every assignment you complete... and they do add up. Assignments will also receive a small Franc (₣) multiplier when calculated.

Missions


The few mandatory assignments. They will serve as the activity checks of the group, and will be announced rarely but with little warning. Nevertheless, they will still have a reasonable amount of time to be completed. Please prioritize these if you would like to remain in the group -- even over any current event. Thank you.

Assignments


|| Reconnaissance ||
It is impossible to gauge the worth of information, especially information pertaining to enemy locations, caches, or other areas of strategic value. Members may submit a reconnaissance piece once a week. Reward: Random Item.

|| Patrol ||
One has to remember to keep ahold of the territory one has already managed to gather, and that means CONSTANT VIGILANCE. Patrol available only in the patrol chat on the alpha-war discord. Each member may only use the !patrol command five times a day regardless of how many characters you have.Reward: Varies. Submit your patrols to find out your reward!

|| Personal Training ||
The City was not built in a day. Neither is your physique. Stay in shape, kids, or else the cats will get you, and, well, that’s just embarrassing. Members may submit a personal training piece once a week. Reward: One (1) stat point in a trainable stat of your choice.

|| Class Advancement ||
Congratulations! Once you have acquired 1500 merits, your character is now experienced enough to specialize in their chosen branch and better serve the canines. You may submit an art piece or prose piece detailing this proud moment in your character's life. Reward: Class Promotion and a variable amount of bonus Merits, dependent on the effort put into the art or prose.

|| Explore ||
Move into unknown territory. Go out past the borders of the city and see how far you can go without risking your life. Avoid monsters, or try to fight them as you please. Currently, it's advised you run from them. Reward: a map expansion upon 1500 completed explores within the group. (Progress visible on front page.) Each character may only submit once per day, with the exception of Scouts.

Learning the Ropes


|| Walking The Wall ||
We all have to do our due diligence in keeping cats off our side. For your first patrol, you must log the happenings that you've come across. If you've been at it for a while, getting right to work, good for you! I'm sure someone witnessed your blundering first, though. Ask around. Utilize the !patrol command from the chat bot to start this assignment if you haven't done your first patrol yet. Reward: Merits given upon submission of art or literature depicting 'first patrol.'

|| Supply Rally ||
Despite what we can supply for ourselves, there's still some things we can't do any better than mother nature. That, or just take it from the cats themselves. Go on and fetch something useful, and we'll give you something in return. It'll be worth your while, we promise. Reward: Normal 'Reconnaissance' reward + merits given upon submission of first piece.

|| Practicing the Basics. ||
You chose your class for a reason, right? Time to find out if you really belong there. Slayers, pick up your weapons.
Apprentices, learn some sigils. Interns... Here's a cadaver. If you aren't adept now, you're going to be by the time we're through with you. You won't be any help on the battlefield if you start being useless here. Reward: Merits given upon submission. Can only be done once.

Bulletin Board


What are bulletins?

...Let me tell you about bulletins.

Think of bulletins as a sort of quest system; random npcs will put up a request, and you may choose to fill that request for a stated reward, either showing your effort through roleplays, writing, or art. Because of the nature of most bulletins -- do this, please retrieve that, kill this, etc -- it’s advised that, should you choose to draw your bulletin fill, you make either a comic or sequential art. (You will receive the regularly-scheduled Franc reward for your efforts in addition to the bulletin reward.) Bulletins will not be refreshed on a specific timetable, although the mods will attempt to post new bulletins every two weeks or so. Regardless, the journal will be updated every time to let members know what’s available.

In the event that a bulletin you were planning on filling is filled by another member, please don’t fret! Mod-posted bulletins can be filled multiple times by different people as long as the bulletin is still. Y’know. Posted. Note that the one person cannot fill one bulletin multiple times, save for very rare occasions -- while your enthusiasm is to be commended, spread around the love a bit, all right?

In before anyone asks, yes, ocasionally bulletin boards written by certain enterprising NPCs are plot-relevant and may affect a storyline or two. Some might be obvious, some won’t; part of the fun is the mystery, in this case.

As a fun bit of immersion, members will be allowed to submit bulletins of their own! ...With some rules, of course, which are as follows:
  • Each member may only have one active bulletin at any given point in time. A bulletin is only removed if the member that originally posted it notes the group saying that they wish to do so, or the bulletin is filled by another member.
  • Yes, that means that member-created bulletins are guaranteed to survive refreshes unless they’re requested to be removed.
  • Member-created bulletins may only be filled once. If you want to fill a member’s bulletin, please comment below specifying which bulletin you’re reserving. You will then have three weeks to finish your fill. Failure to do so will result in you losing your reservation and giving other people a chance to reserve and complete the bulletin.
  • A member-created bulletin costs 500₣ to post. Should their bulletin be completed, they will then receive 25✧ as a reward. Francs are not refunded if the member decides to remove their bulletin before it can be completed. The reward (in addition to the francs awarded for the piece itself) is 25✧.
  • Member-created bulletins cannot impact the plot in any way.
  • This is hopefully obvious, but a member can not fill their own bulletin. That's cheating, yo.
