Leave Me

A companion piece/visual of my poem  Take FlightSpread your wings and take flight
And leave me far behind.
Don’t mind those letters in the wind.
After all, you’ve got a country to defend.
Leave your life in the past
And make something that will truly last.
Just don’t forget to return to us
And come back before we begin to rust.
Until then,
Take my breath away.
And take my heart, too.
It belongs to you
Anyway.
