I watched his evil face contorted

By oozing running sores exhorted

Evil retched rotting worms

As back into his nose they squirmed

And in my assaulted mind the pain

Was already driving me quite insane

The last thing I heard – his yell:

“You’ve just met the Prince of Hell!”

- Jack Clark

The Diamond Faction

Season: Autumn

Location:  Small village || City by a lake, City by a river

Leader: Ace Le Grand

Ringmaster: -

Everybody knows the sinister and disturbingly ominous feeling you experience while walking along a dark alleyway in the

middle of the night - but have you ever wondered what really lurks in the shadows and waits to attack you and peel off

the flesh from your bones? Imagine the exact feeling, only far worse, and you will understand what being a part of the

Diamond Faction means. Brutality, Exaggeration,  Violent Elegance and the thin line between insanity and sanity are the

pillars of our Faction. A literal living nightmare filled with crazy cackles of our demented yet perfectly graceful and composed

performers, a nightmare you can't wake up from, no matter what you do...would you even dare to come and watch us?

Or would you run home just like most of you pitiful little souls do?

We all know we're a little different here... But do you know that, too?

Sirens and Tritons charm the people with their supernatural, inhuman voices. Their songs can make some people go

crazy or soothe others. Especially male guests are very attracted by Sirens, and female guests adore our Tritons.

That is the reason why most of them wear lustful and highly attractive stage outfits. However, there are also more

ghostly and haunting types, Sirens/Tritons that send chills up your spine that you have never felt before.

M a n e a t e r

Maneaters are people that have been driven to the brink of insanity. They are locked up in straightjackets due to their

dangerous nature. Maneaters at the Cirque des Reves are only fed with dead human flesh, don't ask where it

comes from. Disembodied limbs, freshly ripped out organs and blood are the typical gourmet meal of a Maneater.

You better watch your step around these guys... and let's hope that as a guest, you have a good stomach.

B r o k e n  D i v a (any gender)

Broken Divas are the sad and terrible examples of our society. Their once so seemingly wonderful and happy life

turned into a living nightmare. Many of them were actors, comedians and singers, but through terrible accidents

they were deformed, making perfect examples for dreams turned into nightmares. The people look at them in

pity and remorse as they peform things they still remember from their old lives, just to laugh at them

when they leave the tent.

F i r e  B r e a t h e r

Fire Breathers stun the people with their ability to "swallow" down fire without getting burnt or and other things

happening to them. They are professionals at mastering the heat and sometimes like to mess around with the guests

by heating them up a bit, if you know what we mean.

Fire Breathers may sometimes even set themselves, or a part of their body on fire for a few seconds.

This is of course only for the sake of the show.

F i r e  D a n c e r

Similar to the Fire Breather, the Fire Dancers stun people with the use of fire within their performance. They use all

kinds of tools and items such as bolas, poi, hoops, fans or torches to dance with or juggle them. The main

difference between Fire Breathers and Dancers is the fact that Dancers will not set themselves on fire and will

not attempt to rouse the audience by heating them up.  It is more about the visuals that they create, than the

danger of the fire which surrounds them.

C o n t o r t i o n i s t

Contortionists are the masters at bending their bodies in any kind of position. Give them the smallest cupboard you

have, they'll fit in it and still wear a smile on their face. The crows is riveted by everything that apparendly should

break the Contortionists bones, and when it doesn't, they want them to do even harder things. But don't worry,

there is no trick and no bizarre or horrifying pisition of the human body the Contortionists can't do.

G u n s l i n g e r

Gunslingers are extremely talented while having a gun at their ready.  No matter what they have to shoot, they'll hit it,

the circumstances don't matter. In Cirque des Reves Gunslingers are only allowed to shoot at Zombies or illusions of

dead people, because shooting at real people is strongly prohibited and will result in an automatical exclusion of the Circus.

F r e a k

The crowd loves Freaks. Be it people with deformities, special traits or other things, Freaks are perfect to be laughed

and stared at. The guests are always stunned by their physical appearance and crazy looks, it's all for the show!

Deep inside though, the people are scared by these beings, they don't know how to deal with them in their normal

life and often hunt and kill them, but when these people are at the Circus, they are one of the most interesting attractions.

S w o r d  S w a l l o w e r

Give them any razorsharp and life threatening knife or sword, the Sword Swallower will gladly put it into his mouth,

then right to his gut. Better not try this at home.

D a r k  C l o w n

The Clowns of the Diamond Faction are not those clowns that you could bear meeting in a dark alley at night. These

clowns are pure evil, they are not meant for joking, but for scaring the living lights out of you. The youngest guests

think they can cope with what these lads have to offer, but trust us, after their visit they wish they would

have never been born.

N e c r o m a n c e r

Necromancers call upon the undead for entertainment. Though if it is magic, science or both that wakes the

dead from their slumer is a secret left to the Necromancer. They may sometimes use steam or electricity

to bring unlife to a dead corpse, much like Frankensteins moster, or perhaps they may interact with

skeletons as well. This can go from letting the undead perform simple tricks as talk or move in a certain way,

or as far as to inflict "physical pain" upon them. This can be for example ripping off limbs and putting half

torn dead back together in different ways. Everything for the show - the more grotesque, the better.

:bulletred: T i c k e t  S e l l e r / M a n a g e r

Ticket Sellers work in the Ticket Booths and at the very entrance of the cirque, charging people for their visit.

They are manipulative and talented businessmen and -women, and know how to bring people to buy a ticket

to the circus within just the blink of an eye.

:bulletred: C o o k / W a i t e r / W a i t r e s s

Cooks, Waiters and Waitresses work in several different places, depending on who their 'customers' are.

If they're serving the visitors, they will work in the Bar- if they cook meals and serve circus members, they work

in the Staff Restaurant usually.

:bulletred: M e c h a n i c

Loose bolts? Broken things? Need any help? Mechanics will be right at your service if you need them.

They help around whenever something is not working as it should, and they're relentless, disciplined,

and hardworking people.

Circus Assistants help around everywhere. From doing small things like building up the tents or

assisting in performances, they have to do a lot of different things, and mostly - be efficient at it.

:bulletred: O u t d o o r  M a n a g e r

Outdoor Managers take care of the Cirque's visual appearance on the outside. They

decide what kinds of decorations are set up, what kind of preparations have to be taken care of, etc.

:bulletred: M u s i c i a n

Musicians play and entertain the cirque's guests by playing beautiful pieces on their instruments.

From popular instruments like pianos, violins and flutes, to exotic ones like harps, lutes or corners -

Every single instrument instantly turns into something simply magical when being played by

these marvelous artists.

:bulletred: S e c u r i t y  G u a r d

Security Guards make sure everything runs smoothly and there's no serious threat for both the cirque

members and visitors. They guard the entrances, take care of the safety measures, and defend the cirque

in case anything unexpected happens.

:bulletred: P h o t o g r a p h e r

The cirque's Photographers may have big and extremely unhandy cameras, but the pictures

they take are simply amazing, and most of all, magical. Not only do they capture a single moment,

no, the pictures move by themselves, as if the image depicted was something real. Most of these

pictures are used for advertisements and posters for the cirque.

:bulletred: C a r e t a k e r

Caretakers make sure the circus is meticulously clean, things are in place and everything looks nice.

A dirty cirque is a no-go!

:bulletred: D o m e s t i c

Domestics are typical 'servants', so to speak. They do different kinds of work, but mostly they deliver

messages from one place to another, do as their told and do whatever, whenever they are needed.

In some ways they can be described as butlers.

:bulletorange: S t a g e  W o r k e r

Stage Workers take care of cirque props, the stage setting and everything concerning the stage.

:bulletorange: B a c k s t a g e  W o r k e r

:bulletorange: S p e c i a l  E f f e c t s  W o r k e r

Special Effects Workers tend to have magical powers – they enhance the show's intensity

by adding in effects to the performances. A lot of people underestimate their talents, but

after seeing the shows, many change their mind quickly.

:bulletorange: S e a m s t e r / S e a m s t r e s s

Seamsters and Seamstresses  create the performer’s outfits. Some garments gain

magical abilities if the Seamster is fond of using magic.

:bulletorange: T a i l o r

Tailors design the performer’s outfits – from frilly white dresses to pitch black elegant

robes, the variety of garments is simply astonishing~!

:bulletorange: M a k e U p  A r t i s t

Make Up Artists apply makeup and prosthetics to the performer's faces before every show. They work

in the backstage area of each Tent, ready to transform every performer into a shining bright star. (which

they are anyways, of course)

:bulletorange: H a i r  D r e s s e r

Ever wondered who made all these beautiful hair styles of the performers? Yes, that's the fabulous

work of the cirque's Hair Dressers! Your hair style has never been this perfect~

:bulletyellow: N u r s e

Nurses take care of ill members of the cirque, but also are available in case something happens to one

of the visitors. Just like the medics, they work at the Medic Tent. Sometimes they work outside though, too.

:bulletyellow: M e d i c s

Medics heal sick members of the cirque - some of them might have certain magical powers, some don't, but

whatever illness may come, the medics will know how to heal it. They usually spend their entire day working

at the Medic Tent, but sometimes they work outside, too, depending on the situation.

:bulletgreen: P u p p e t  S h o w  P l a y e r

These Puppeteers are not like the ones in the Black Faction – they work in the puppet theatre for

children in front of the Main Tent and their puppets are usually not magical in any way. (This may vary

of course!). The puppets used in the shows are usually handmade by the Puppet Players. Because of

their marvelous work, children enjoy their stay even more!

:bulletgreen: H o u  s e   o f  M i r r o r s  W o r k e r

Contrary to the Waiters, Waitresses and Cooks, Baristas only work in the Bar accessible for visitors. They mix

different drinks, serve the visitors, and sometimes, they even put magical things inside the beverages. Baristas

are definitely not lightweights when it comes to drinking, heh.

:bulletgreen: S n a c k s   S e l l e r

Just like the Crêpes, Candy, Popcorn and Ice-cream  Sellers, Snack Sellers make and sell their respective foods

to the visitors- their products are magical and tend to have certain effects on the people. It's all up to them what

kind of twisted little additions the snacks have and what happens to the visitors after they eat them. You’ll find a

Ever wondered about your future? About your destiny, too, perhaps? Well then it's time to hit up one of our

Fortune Tellers! The cirque's Fortune Tellers work in the Fortune Teller Tent located next to the Ferris Wheel.

They have their regular Faction Trailer, but some of them prefer sleeping in their own personal Tent.

:bulletgreen: T a r o t  C a r d s  R e a d e r

Just like the Fortune Tellers, Tarot Card Readers tell you what your future brings - perhaps even what

secrets your past holds. (if you have any that is.)

:bulletgreen: F l e a  C i r c u s  M a n a g e r

These guys know how hard it is to lead a circus - and their performers are little fleas, so hey,

I think that means something! They present their own little flea circus shows inside their little tent,

but their audience is anything else but little! Make sure to drop by~

:bulletgreen: F e r r i s  W h e e l  W o r k e r

Ferris Wheel Workers keep the beautiful Ferris Wheel going, round and round. It's not really easy

taking care of such a huge thing, even with magic, trust me ...

As far as the freak, I have a question. I had an idea for a character, but a friend of mine who is also planning on entering warned against this idea as it might be a little too grotesque. My idea was for a face-stealing type of creature. This character would literally rip their own face off and replace it with a stolen face. So is this too gross or do you think this is something that would pass within your limits?
