My daughter's Baptism Card Case

So... you guys may not have seen a lot of me lately but that's because I have been crafting away in preparation for my daughter's baptism. One of the things I've made in preparation is a case for her cards.


My father used to own a case to carry cassette tapes. For you young'uns, here's what a cassette tape looks like (XP) : printmatic.net/wp-content/uplo… and the case was something like this: media-cache-cd0.pinimg.com/736…

Obviously, it lost it's usefulness once CDs came around and stayed in my parent's dusty basement lost to time. But so, I decided to pic it up and give it new life!
To make this I needed to remove everything inside (cassette slots) change up the inside by taking some cardboard, wrapping it in tissue paper, sticking the tissue paper on the inside, and decorating with little stickers and photos of Ellie along with paper doilies.

On the outside, I spray painted the strip silver, took gesso, painted/primed the case and painted the suit case pink with some of my SUPER old acrylics.
P.S: Acrylics last FOREVER. If you have little crafty things to do, save your old synthetic paints. They may look old but I have some of the cheap stuff that's over 10 years old and it still does the job.
