The nincada could be heard buzzing in a lazy manner even as the moon slowly rose up high into the evening sky, draped in glittering jewels known as stars. With beautiful clear weather a swirling bridge of celestial bodies danced above a large gathering of a more earthly glow, -Festival Lanterns- were festooned about the streets of Scorched Mountain Village, chosen for its high vantage point to be even closer to the night atmosphere. Again a crowd had gathered for another special seasonal celebration and excitement permeated the dreamy romanticism of the festival. Then from the tallest peak a shining silver haired being descended upon them like a softly falling star itself, glowing faintly to catch the people's attention.
Yokunen:
Hello hello, my dear villagers. Oh- though I do suppose calling you all my villagers might be a tad presumptuous of me. Either way, I do hope you are all treating yourselves well this time of year, and are enjoying the warm glow of the summer sun~ But as you all get comfortable with the new rhythm of longer days and shorter nights, your fellow leaders and guardians have an exciting event planned for all your lovely faces.
Tanabata (Star Festival) is right around the corner, as the star-crossed lovers will once again meet on the 7th day of this 7th month <3 Ahh that's terribly romantic. Of course, such an important, romantic day deserves a very special, one of a kind event hosted by yours truly~ There will be festivities, oh yes, and food and dancing and much joy! But a little spice is what's going to make this year just the best~ We do hope you'll all participate in this grand occasion, because I dare say it's a once in a lifetime opportunity > v o~*

Tanabata
For the rest of July, Pokimono will be honoring the bittersweet legend of star-crossed lovers (literally), Orihime and Hikoboshi with a focus on the themes “Summer”, “Wishes”, and “Couples”. Until the deadline of August 7th, submitted work (art, writing, or otherwise) that relates to these topics will be worth three extra points.
Tanabata is a time of Summer nights and clear starry skies, the perfect backdrop for your best seasonal yukatas, young and old. Orihime means ‘Weaving Princess’ after all, so let’s see your characters dressed up and ready for a good time.
Like most Matsuri events Tanabata is no slouch! Filled to the brim with outdoor stalls of games and food, the main attraction ought to be the Tanabata decoration competition! Seven different categories to participate in, such as kusudama, paper cranes, paper kimonos, purses, nets, trash bags, and streamers, there is no shortage of creativity allowed! Tanzaku – The handwritten dreams and wishes on slips of paper that will be tied to the branches of bamboo are special, not only to the hearts of the authors but to our esteemed Wish Master Jirachi as well. So treat them seriously as Yokunen may just pick one of your wishes to grant themself or even bring it to Arceus on your behalf. For a festival that celebrates lovers, there should be an emphasis on ‘pairings’ of all sorts. It doesn’t necessarily have to be restricted to just couples, and we certainly are not looking for any shipping wars on our hands, but any work of collaboration will be doubly appreciated.~Pokimono Date Auction~
And if just having fun is not enough incentive for you we have a grand finale event after August 7th to strive for! In the spirit of ~coupling up~, a select group of our fabulously single village leaders and guardians have graciously offered up themselves for ONE DATE [rp] to whoever places the highest ‘bid’ of accumulated Tanabata points at the end of this event. [These are points you can only gain through artwork related to this event. There can be no exchanging, gifting, sharing, or pooling of points.]
