chester really doesn't pay much mind to anything other than sports. he figures that things will just blow over eventually regardless of what he does. so he doesn't really do anything about anything. he's very relaxed and chill. 

"I am literally a prince. That's not just a weird pop culture name. It's a title."
His family has been royalty in this tiny country in Europe for hundreds of years and his parents are King and Queen and this has a lot of potential. Fame. money. royalty. And those are sort of all true. He's a household name in this tiny country and they are really rich and he's sort of royal. But he has 5 brothers. 

Four of them are older than him, so they are all in line to be king before he ever will. And they aren't all that much older than Chester either. So unless they all up and die he's probably never going to be king. And he's not even the young, cute, available prince who is popular with the ladies. That's his younger brother. But he actually doesn't care. He'd rather stay out of the public eye. And that's what he's good at. He goes out in public all the time and literally no one ever recognizes him. He never does any press and he doesn't go out in the public with his older brothers, who are known as the "fantastic four" (which Chester thinks is really fucking stupid) and he really just tries to stay under the radar. He was on TV once when he was born - ("another child to the Royal Ross'? Fantastic Five? Probably not") and again when his oldest brother got married, when he was interviewed - (what do you think of your brother getting married? "I guess he has a wife now".) 

While his brothers were charming the public, he decided to ignore the fame thrust upon him and focus on something else. He didn't really want to be famous. Not just because of his family name anyways. He chose instead to devote himself to athletics. Which sounds dumb. But it was easy enough given his condition. Because of their wealth, their castle has a basketball court, swimming pool, soccer court, ice rink, everything. So he became good at pretty much everything. He really didn't have anything else to do, especially in the summer. Because he kept himself removed from the public, he really didn't have any friends. Or even acquaintances. And he didn't get along that well. So he kept to himself and practiced athletics. He went on runs on the track around their estate, and eventually, running became his outlet. 

As he grew up, his parents became increasingly concerned that he didn't seem to be extroverted like the rest of his brothers, and they thought it was their duty to get him out into the world. When he was 15, they removed him from the private academy that was taught in their castle that he and his brothers attended, and sent him to Himawari Academy in the hopes that he would make prestigious friends in the hopes that he would have friends in high places so that when he finally puts himself into the public eye, he has experience on how to act.

But because he is so used to closing himself off, he does the same at Himawari. He doesn't talk to anyone in the fear that someone will figure out that he's a prince. It's embarrassing to him more than anything else. He thought about joining the sports teams but he knew his family members would probably attend at least one competition and everyone would find out. But he joined Haganai club eventually in the hope that maybe he would meet people who wouldn't ask him stupid questions about his family life. He honestly just wants people to forget that he is a prince. And probably above all he wanted something to write his parents about when they write him asking about what he's up to and all his friends. He wants them to be proud.
