She ran for her life. Through the vast abundance of thick forest trees changing her direction every so often in hopes that they wouldn't find her. The heavy rain making the forest floor slip under her feet, covering her shoes and jeans with dark mud. She needed to be free and this was her way of securing her freedom. All the had to do was get to the other side of the forest and over the border fence.
Her life had been good until she choose to be an elementalist, a fire one at that. Then it changed, her life was full of training and control. While her old friends learned about freedom and how to use their gifts to the best of their abilities, she was learning how to control every aspect of herself; her emotions, her movements, her words. Anything that could cause a lick of fire to erupt from her system. She quickly seen when they - the fire elementalists- were said to be some of the most dangerous people and why they had to become the guard to their world. Better to guard then to kill. That was their motto. For a while she had the control from her they needed, she was quick at learning her craft but when she learned of her brothers passing she snapped. All essence of control was gone, her teachers learning the danger of her gift and by the end of that week she was in a fire resistant prison with her hands secured behind her back. A fire elementalist needs the use of their hands to conjure a flame. In trapping her, they hoped she would never escape, they never had anyone escape but when the flames roared loudly in the dark light of night a full out warrant for death was granted. She was a danger to all and she had to be stopped.
The guards had sent out all battling warriors in hopes of tracking her. So here she was running for her life. The trackers close to her trail but still far enough she she did have a chance. The rain was stopping the burning within her from unleashing. That she was grateful for as the cool fresh water reminded her what she was fighting for. She was however, sure that a water elementalist was causing the rain. It came on to sudden and was going on for too long. After jumping over a fallen log she took a quick look behind her, trying to focus her red eyes on the area around her, seeing if she could see the swarm that was after her.
“Gotch ya!” Screamed a husky voice in her ear. Toppling both of them to the ground as the grabbed her. The warrior trying to secure her arms to her side while attempting to straddle her back, they needed to hold her in place but she had different ideas. Fighting back the best she could, she had to escape them. The fight causing her blonde wavy hair to fall from its bun. “Don’t fight love, you can’t escape from us.” The voice breathed as they slammed her arms to her side and her body to the moss below. The blow erupting her anger inside of her body. A slight giggle came from her lips, slowly forming her reply “Oh yeah, I think this will” With her final word she exhaled air onto her captors chin. The air expanded over the form above her and instantly setting it alight causing a ear wrenching scream to envelop her ears and the burning corpse to free her.
She set off running again getting ever closer to freedom as her burning flames rippled throughout the dust behind her causing an unstoppable inferno.

My Darkness
I feel like my insides are ripping apart
Everything feels misplaced
Nothing feels real
I'm falling
I don't know where I'll land
I don't have a body
It's all useless
I feel so lost
My life isn't me
Where am I going?
Why can't I move?
Turmoil
Pain
My breath is raspy
I scream
But no one hears me
I'm in darkness
I'm not me
I'm not the smiles you see
You've never seen me
Broken
Not moving
Not breathing
Scared
Always acting unafraid
Angry
Always acting so calm
Is today, today?
Is time meaningless?
Time doesn't exist
Life is faded into nothing
I don't know
Only breathing lifelessly
I can't push
Everything is shallow
Nowhere
What I face today I wi
