Queen Chrysalis

Long live the queen.

This project has been an interesting one. I usually would make everything out of supersculpey but because I'm going to be selling it I need it to be as tough as possible. Supersculpey is way too fragile in thin pieces. The hair, wings and horn would explode if you look at them too hard. I had to use a much tougher material; in this case the tail/mane and wings are made from Milliput (epoxy clay) supported by tooling foil and the horn was carved from plasticard.

Base made from MDF
Painted with acrylics

Stands 160mm tall to the tip of the horn.
