{PROJECT OK} Kazuma Hotaru

• Hotaru is quite shy, but will open up to people he is close to.  His major trait is how hardworking he is, but will often not realize he is making a mistake until someone points it out for him.  He has small squinty eyes that gives him a constant glare, which causes no end to misunderstandings in his life.  Despite that, he tries his best to practice smiling, even though there doesn't seem to be any progress.  One of his bad habits is saying what comes to mind without realizing, especially when it is criticism to someone's speech or manners.  
• His major flaws is that he tends  to push his ideas on others, he finds it hard to understand why other people think differently, causing him to feel distant from others.
• Hotaru is also plagued by a paranoia of failing, driving him to practice twice as hard than anyone else (and train his very bad stamina) even though he has considerable confidence in his skills and teammates.
• His hair would always cover half of his face and hinder his vision and he often forgets to wear his glasses thus causing him to squint most of the time, especially when he needs to focus on people's faces. Often times, people assume that he is pissed off at them and avoid him but in reality, Hotaru feels as though he is being ignored and he would complain and sob to Agato. 

History

_{Hotaru comes from the outskirts of the city and the environment there is more or less like the quiet countryside. He had always been one of the brighter students of his age.} Hotaru would also only spend his time studying at home and won't interact with people that much which causes him to have very few friends. In his Elementary School days, he was invited by the few friends he had to join the school's Kick-Volleyball team with them. Surprisingly enough, he actually had fun playing with them. Hotaru would get bullied frequently because students assumed that he was an arrogant person. Hotaru would get scolded by Agato after being saved by him because Hotaru sometimes disregards people's feelings if he feels like he needed to get a point across. When he entered Middle School, there wasn't a Kick-Volleyball team but he didn't want the trouble of rounding up people to start one. In the end, he decided to stop playing and went back to his life full of studying. 

One day, he stumbled upon the volleyball team practicing outdoors and was attracted to the gameplay, he admired their teamwork and spirit. He would then observe them from anywhere possible, mainly from his classroom as he took down notes about volleyball. Through constant observation, he managed to learn the basics of traditional volleyball. Hotaru would make subconscious calculations with the different techniques and the effectiveness of certain combinations. He was kind of jealous of the members because they would be so happy playing together. After all the reading up on volleyball, he thought he would be best suited for the Libero position because he found that the middle blockers and most of the ones in front were too busy being in the middle of everything that he didn't thought he would enjoy it. He then enrolled into Daiki Gakuen trying to change his image from the nerdy kid to a somewhat sporty one. He would still spend hours upon hours studying at home to make up the time he used for practice but nonetheless, he was enjoying it. Hotaru stands by the thought of "hardwork always pays off" so even though he does not have a thing such as "raw talent" aside from his speed, through constant repetitive training and also technique modifications, he will be able to be a strong libero.

• Tanikaze Agato (app): Childhood friend and neighbor to Hotaru and even though they played the same style of volleyball as they went to the same primary school, they would share their knowledge and experiences. They get along well due to Hotaru's shy personality and Agato's laidback personality. Hotaru can share his feelings and thoughts with Agato as Agato is a good listener. 
• Kurosawa Yuuto (app): Recently moved next to Hotaru's house and they found out they were going to join the same team, thus started to get along.
• Oogata Saburo (app): A caring senpai introduced by Yuuto, he comes to Hotaru's house for study sessions with Agato and Yuuto. In return of the study sessions, he would teach Hotaru more about volleyball.
  
• Jun Hattori (Captain of Daiki VBC): Hotaru thinks of him as an amazing senpai, but due to the amount of admirers and kouhai Jun has, Hotaru feels really shy to speak up and he always looks as though he is glaring at Jun but that's just how he looks normally, inside, he actually wishes he gets a chance to talk to Jun-senpai. Even though they are senpai and kouhai and Hotaru does respect his seniors, he doesn't really think senior and juniors are different. They are all just people who enjoys playing volleyball and one day he knows he will (probably) have a chance of playing on court alongside the captain. (if he works hard enough)
