soothing music
we wake up with credits rolling

cats face paw repeatedly

as the dog frolicks
with her squeaky toy

catnip incense
smoldering threads tangle

just a mote in the air
followed closely by cats

taunting continues
round one goes to moth

snowing again-
flowers frozen
and all the bugs want in

insects reluctantly pause
before disregarding request

in from the cold
into cat's mouths

insects transformed
transmuted via digestion
into boundless feline singularity

mad morning-
meows of 'come get me'
and thundering pawfalls

physics demonstrated
...with enough momentum
cats can defy gravity

brothers feuding?
A little catnip
mellows the morning

more than fur and whiskers
together we are mighty

one to knock down the fly
one to eat it

horse can hear a mile away

in beautiful ways horses repay

I wonder just who
is the beast of burden?

slipping from the fringes
of carbonized cackleberries
