This test has been used in the past, to see if young Marandians were fit for battle or dragon hunting.
Nowadays, this is to see how strong your horse is, if he has the right confirmation and character traits.
Test 1 : confirmation
A simple halter class, were you show your horse it's body. Judges shall tell if this horse has the perfect confirmation for the breed or if it's lacking some details. We look to each type as an individual, meaning the Fight type can not be compared to the Armor type. What to draw
- draw your horse, full body + colored, with a typical Marandian halter or bridle (see sheets)
Extra gain
- photobackground VS manipulated background VS own drawn background
- handler VS no handler
- Correct breed + type confirmation (we do not expect that you draw a flawless horse ... yet the Marandian breed and each of his types have a few typical traits we need to see ...)
- Story of 200+ words
- random
Test 2: Bravery
You don't go to war or fighting dragons with a horse that is scared of flames or doesn't want to jump into water.Marandian horses are know for their loyalty to their rider and courage.
What to draw
- draw your horse, full body, tacked (normal tack allowed), colored with handler doing the following test
--- Fire part: horse need to jump trough or over a few obstacles on fire. One part hold that a part of the open plain is set on fire (magical fire, yet it feels real enough, but doesn't hurt ... but horsie doesn't know that ) and horse and rider need to run trough, escaping the flames.
--- Water part: A rapid streaming river need to be crossed. The horse can not touch the bottom of the river each time, so he need to use his strength to get trough. We don't want to discourage you, but there is a waterfall up ahead!
*You only need to draw one part of this, what is up to you.
Extra gain
- photobackground VS manipulated background VS own drawn background
- we look at personality versus entry. if you horse is a scared rat but jumps trough fire like he does it all his life, ... keep it logical adding personality is also a type of art (and drawing your horse refusing doesn't mean you lose automatically )
- Correct breed + type confirmation (we do not expect that you draw a flawless horse ... yet the Marandian breed and each of his types have a few typical traits we need to see ...)
- Story of 200+ words
- random
- Training picture (drawing your horse being trained around fire or water). must be a new picture
Test 3: speed and agility
Speed and agility are needed on the battlefield to keep both horse and rider save.
What to draw
- draw your horse, full body, tacked (war tack), colored with handler.
- the test is similar to a cross country test, following a set parcour that need to be finished in time. Parcour included jumping (normal obstacles, natural obstacles, water obstacles, sharp turn, jumping and landing on different height, ....
Extra gain
- photobackground VS manipulated background VS own drawn background
- we look at personality versus entry. adding personality is also a type of art (and drawing your horse refusing doesn't mean you lose automatically )
- Correct breed + type confirmation (we do not expect that you draw a flawless horse ... yet the Marandian breed and each of his types have a few typical traits we need to see ...)
- Story of 200+ words
- random
- correct tack (see sheets)
- Training picture (drawing your horse being trained in speed (like race training) or agility.
These results are then calculated together for the final ranking of your horse.
gold + gold + gold = gold

gold + silver + bronze = silver
gold + bronze + bronze = silver
silver + silver + silver = silver
silver + silver + bronze = silver
