Art style trade: Kaeilash

THIS WAS HARD. BUT THANK YOU KAELISH (kaeilash.tumblr.com/) FOR ALLOWING ME TO STUDY YOUR STYLE. IT WAS REALLY ENLIGHTENING!!! Q___Q I felt like I learned a lot, especially about how eyes work (cus I skimp out so much on eye details omg www)

Drawing style: What stuck out to me most is how confident and clean her lines were ahh. And it took me a while to adjust to drawing clean lineart cus come on...I'm so lazy I treat all my sketches as lineart ^q^;;; BUT YEAH. I had a lot of fun trying to mimic her clean lines, though you probably see me lazy a bit somewhere haha. I also like how she draws the face, IDK how to explain it but it gives off this really...broad feeling, hah, how do you explain this. I ALSO LIKE THE NOSE A LOT. It's so cute (but also so confusing to color?? I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO COLOR IT.//cries a lot T__T;;;  )

I'm just rambling at this point at how pretty and clean her art is, and the eye shapes and noses are so interesting to me?? Like wow,  Kagami's eyes have such a cool shape to them and dayum he looks hot in her style ok, don't stare at me. ^q^;; IDK WHAT TO SAY BESIDES ITS SO PRETTY??

Coloring style: I LIKE THE SIMPLE CELL SHADING HANDS DOWN ROFLS. ^_TT I think the simplicity of the colors really let the lineart stand out on its own, like you notice the stylistic choices in how she draws her faces and stuff, and there's just so much detail to her lineart that I feel like if you overwhelm it with a lot of colors, those would be lost.

LIKE in comparison to my drawings, where I basically just spice up my lineart with colors otherwise it looks boring and flat, the colors in Kae's pics usually accentuate the lines and make them pop out more. ^q^ FOR EXAMPLE, go stare at her karasuno picture because it is AMAZING yeahh.*_*//

And...the...painting one...u h m. //cries a river. IDK HOW TO PAINT, and I admit my loss here. ^_T;; It's just really difficult haha, which makes it fun (and somewhat frustrating www) BUT I have to hand it to Kae, because in her painterly style, she creates such sharp contrast with the colors, it's really visually interesting *__* (Go stare at her animalia piece and you'll see what I mean.) It's really interesting how there's so many different kinds of strokes in it, and how each color lays on top of the other without muddying together, and it creates THIS REALLY COOL SHINY EFFECT, like metal. But yeah, the highlights are so bold in contrast to the shadows, it's a really fun to attempt!!

Though I failed. ^_TT OH WELLS.; I'm p proud that I pulled off an insanely clean lineart. It was so exhausting and different omg. I don't do linearts usually but yeah... okay shutting up now. ^q^;;;

*in the end I prefer the simple shaded one the best //cries ^q^
