Description
Lunyfs / Bioluminescent Things are an open species, HOWEVER you MUST read all of the guide above, read the rules below and have your Lunyf approved in order to create one!
LUNYF CREATION RULES
Read the guide above. No, I'm not gonna quiz you or anything, but the more details you read about these little guys, the better you'll be able to draw 'em.
Lunyfs cannot be used commercially. Please don't make paid adoptables out of them, use them in logos etc. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
Please credit me for the species. Just because this is an open species doesn't mean you can treat it as your own. X'D
Be as creative as you'd like, but please stick to a muted skin color, and don't go too crazy with "clothes" or "wearables". I've got nothing against sprakledogs/cats etc., but these are meant to be a wild animal. If your wearable item could have plausibly been created with natural materials and tree sap glue, it's totally
fine ^^ Thanks!
OPTIONAL: Check out this more in-depth look at a Lunyf: fav.me/d7wm1x5
Ask questions. I will have an FAQ below!
Read these rules and if you have read this far, please mention seaweed in your comment linking your Lunyf.
Link me a picture of your Lunyf after you've created it so I can approve it and add it to the official list of Lunyfs (list to be made)!
SOME THINGS NOT MENTIONED
As said in the guide, Lunyfs do NOT lay eggs but instead give live birth. It is common to have 1-3 Chicklings per litter.
At the age of 4-6 years, Lunyfs will reach breeding age and will be able to move in with/combine nests with a mate and have Chicklings.
Though Lunyfs do not necessarily live in groups, they will form close-knit friendships and often choose to build nests nearby to those of other Lunyfs'. They hunt alone but often play together and thus can be seen traveling in small packs by day.
Lunyfs can control their light pretty well once they get older; however they can not completely "turn off" their bioluminescence and therefore prefer to sleep in secluded hollows where they are in no danger of attracting predators with their glow.
