Gareth The Ferret: Robot Hood!

Description

Sorry if you guys were waiting for something to happen on my DA page, but I got good news and bad news (if you can call it that)

The Good news is, I've managed to sort out the scanner issue, so now I won't have to use my phone camera to take pictures, or start my drawings from scratch (I found it difficult, probably due to the size of the drawing, compared to how you zoom in and how big the canvas was).

And this piece was a sketch I made on paper, before scanning it to do the inks and coloring, and, in my opinion comparing to my other digital artwork, I'd say this is my best digital work to date (I haven't done that much digital artwork, since I only had Paint Tool Sai for 2-3 months).

I think the coloring went well with the theme I was thinking (think Robin Hood, but with Cybernetics) and the dark theme fits well for sneaky types (which Gareth is one of them). Though I'll say the background was kind of bland, but it was an afterthought, and I didn't do it in the sketch.

The Bad news is, I think I'm giving Gareth a bit of an identity crisis, since I can't really decide on what he should be, I like the idea of him being an archer type, and I made a bio saying Gareth was Mercian, but I'm not sure if the idea would fit well if I was making a story that was... well outside of Mercia (then again, if Rob O'Hedge was able to go to Moebius to help Silver, then it'd OK for Gareth to go to Downunda... right?)

And his original design was meant to be more like one of Eggman's agents, but I thought the idea might be generic, or boring.

Anyway let me know your opinions on this, and possibly the identity crisis issue. I'd make a poll, but you need Premium to actually do that, and I'm not planing on getting... Well probably...

Art belongs to Me.
Just to make sure, Idea of Mercia belongs to Archie (or Penders) and the Robin Hood theme belongs to... wait who does it belong to?

Looks pretty cool.  I like the lines on the robot. .  But anyways, good picture. Two Thumbs Up

And I think the Robin Hood theme belongs to the Old English of the Middle Ages.
