Happy International New Trials Day!!!
I vowed last time that the next picture I upload won't be another Sakura and Syaoran fanart, much as I love to draw those. But I finally did draw a color picture of older Li Leiyun, which is long overdue. Can you guess who is who in this picture? They're mostly original characters from my fanfiction the New Trials of Card Captor Sakura. But you can spot a chibi-Syaoran in the right-hand corner of the picture.
This fanart started out with me wanting to draw Daidouji Tomoyo and Li Leiyun together in a picture--and then after drawing Lei, I thought it was weird to just have the two of them together, so I ended up adding a whole bunch of characters. I guess you can call this group the Anti-Alliance of the Stars of some sorts. I've been meaning to do an "enemy" group picture for ages, so it worked out well. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, considering I was going to just use this as a rough character study sketch initially.
From top left, going clockwise, it's Black Dragon Li Jinyu, Li Leiyun, Chang Erika, young Leiyun with young Li Syaoran, Kara Reed and of course, Tomoyo. I think Tomoyo came out dainty and ladylike in this picture. I had to redraw Kara's dress three times before I settled for this design--I think the main problem is Kara won't be caught dead in wearing a princess dress. For me, Erika is one of the easiest characters to draw in New Trials--I think it's because she has sharp features. Leiyun always is a hard character for me to draw because he's such a chameleon, but I am satisfied with how he turned out this time. And Jinyu's character design has turned out a lot more bishounen then I originally intended. Who is your favorite here?
