Kai wrapped his arms around Meilin’s waist, drawing her closer to him so that he could breathe in her fragrance—no, his own cologne was drowning out her scent of orange and cinnamon. He knew he did not have to say anything. For Meilin understood. That he was thankful to her for just listening without judging him.

Chapter 53: Yesterday's Letter

Holy crap I finally finished it o.o I've been trying to finish this for about a year and a half... Anywho, this is my entry for the New Trials 100 Theme Challenge #60 - Exhaustion! It's also one of my gifts for the 15th anniversary of New Trials!  (Sept 1st is International New Trials Day) I've only been following it for about 4.5 years though lol, but the story is definitely one of those rare fanfictions that are like a continuation of the original series.

I think one of the difficulties I encountered when trying to draw this scene was that I couldn't find any songs that went well with Kai x Meilin (I get most of my motivation from songs that I associate with what I'm drawing). But about a month ago I actually did find some! Yay! My music was on shuffle one day and the song My Kind of Love by Emeli Sande came on and I got really excited after I was able to relate it to these two xD The lyrics on the picture are from Falling Slowly from the movie Once though. I'm really happy I've found songs for KaiMei since they're my 2nd OTP, as most of the time I find them for SyaoSaku (they're just so much easier LOL) I particularly like this scene because it's one of the first truly intimate KaiMei scenes, as in Meilin is actually willing to be intimate haha. And then Sakura iconically interrupts them xD
