The Submission folder has been closed and all entries have been received. The judges will be taking about two weeks to judge all of the entrants. You still have time (4 Days before texts are screenshotted - only to make judging process easier and quicker) to change the wording in your description of your submission. Remember, you will have better chances with judging if you state:
-How you improved on this piece
-Who the gift is for
Remember, we are judging your entry alongside your own gallery. At the end, each piece will have a scorecard assessment, and the person who has the highest scorecard assessment for each category wins 1st place!

If the description is left blank, or doesn't mention the group contest with the journal link, or even the fact that it is a gift, your entry will be skipped. We are taking LOTS of time to personally go through each entrants gallery to grade them against their own work. You all are getting participation points, the judges are getting nothing for donating their precious time and knowledge. So, if you can't bother to read our very simple rules, your piece will be moved out of the contest folder and not judged.

Last year our Christmas Cheer contest had a great turnout, and looking back, I wished we could have given more prizes! So this year, rather than trying to grant a bunch of wishes off the list and use up all of the group's funds. We are upping the prizes and amount of winners for the contest.

What You Need to Do

Make a gift for someone you know, this could be a family member, a friend (in real life, or perhaps an online friend, teachers, anyone at all!)
We want you to challenge yourself as an artist. Go farther and harder than you have before, you've got plenty of time, so plan it out well!
You can only participate in one category, and don't forget to mention in the description of your deviation that it is a contest entry with the link to this journal.

There will be a winner for each category (and if we can gather enough prize donations, runner up positions as well!)
Here are the categories:
Artisan Crafts
Digital Art
Traditional Media Art

For a Winner to be chosen for each category, we MUST have 3 entrants per category.

-That means we need at least 9 participants to furnish the contest.

2 Entrant in the Artisan Craft Category
4 Entrants in the Digital Media Category
We are going to give away a combined Minimum 3700 to our members, you can be old or brand spanking new

Prize List

1st Place per category: will receive 1000 and a special Christmas Sculpt by LittleCLUUs
2nd Place per category: will receive 200
Judge's Honorable Mention: will receive 100
Each Participant will get 10
And Llama badges for all!  

Rules:

The piece must be made AFTER September 1st, 2014
You MUST be a member of SantaDoesExist (new or old all are welcome) to participate
Only one submission per member.
It would benefit you to include how you improved on your work in the description of your deviation.
The piece must be a present for someone you know (This can be a close friend, family member, or another deviant you love)
Your piece will be judged alongside your own gallery. That means you will be judged by

• Your Improvement on making this piece
• Amount of effort you put into this piece compared to your other works
• Creativity, and how far out of the box you thought

The purpose is to spread cheer and creativity, we want you to grow as artists and put your best effort forth, the deadline is Christmas Eve, that's December 24th at Midnight (of whatever time zone you live in)

You can change your entry as many times as you want before the contest is over. (Maybe you improved your piece and want to re-upload) or (maybe you made something better and want that to be your entry instead)
The piece MUST be your own creation. We can tell when you take pictures of your t.v. screen of your favorite anime...that isn't accepted here. If you are doing a photo manipulation, please be sure to list all the credits in your deviation, and as long as they check out, your piece is acceptable.
Literature and Photography (if that is your gift idea) is acceptable under the traditional category (Photo Manips are to be submitted to the digital category)
