Getting Out Alive: Chapter 38

I read Remo's Journal to Chad, who immediately began to remember things.


"I remember Remo now. He visited the dream realm alot. Because he wasn't distracted by other things and because apparently Emoji had been showing him time lines. He taught himself how to astral project and get in touch with the dream realm from a book he read in the library and began meeting with me quite frequently. I would shoo him off most of the time, so I don't remember much." Chad told me. "One prominent thing I remember is how he'd always try to interact with Berzerker. I'd let them have a little time to talk to each other just to make them both shut up, to be honest"


"Perhaps Emoji will know more about this" I told him.


"Yeah, she might. She told Wayne that she refuses to answer anything until we go back up to her and have another interview. I'm glad Steve is no where to be found or he would flip a shit." Chad giggled.


"We must continue looking for things in Remo's room. If his journal was here there may be other things" he reminded me.


I nodded and continued to look around. I found a strange poster with a strange looking woman dressed as a general shouting into a megaphone titled "Let's take back what they took away". Other than those, there was nothing else in his room, so we decided to go see Emoji again.


We hopped onto the elevator to get to the top floor to speak with Emoji. She gave us a happy face when we  went up to her.


"Time for an interview!" She giggled, giving us a pink love face. "Question #1: Are you going to be late?"


"We might be if this interview takes forever!" Chad sighed.


Emoji showed us an anime girl running with toast in her mouth before switching to a dark green screen with a sempai face on it. The words "OOOHH SEMPAI"appeared on the screen followed by audio of an anime girl squealing the phrase. "Question #2: Does it taste good when you bite a man's nipple?"


"Uhhh??? No???" I shrugged, not sure why she was asking us such random questions.


Emoji gave us an annoyed face with a violet background. "Question #3: Is water dry?"


"No!" I laughed. Chad shook his head in disbelief.


Emoji gave us an angry face in response. "Question #4: Do you like to eat seafood?"


"I kinda do" I nodded.


She gave me a sick face with a lime green background in response. "Question #5: When you poop does it feel good?"


"That's really personal!" I sighed. "But I guess pooping can feel nice if I really have to answer that" I felt a little embarrassed saying that out loud. Chad snickered at me.


Emoji gave me the clown face in response and flashed the words "HONL HONL" at me. "Question #6: Is hurting people fun?"


"No!" I shook my head. "Hurting people isn't nice!"


She gave me a hurt look on a pale blue background. "Question #7: Would a wood chuck chuck wood if a wood chuck could chuck wood?"


"Probably, yeah!" I shrugged.


Emoji gave me the orange cyclops face. "Question #8: Is Pizza Steve a douchebag?"


"Most of the time..." Chad replied. Wayne let out a yelp before hitting Chad on the shoulder. Chad just chuckled in response.


Emoji gave us the Pizza Steve face again before flashing the words "HERE HE IS THE BIGGEST DOUCHE IN THE UNIVERSE" as the song with the same name's audio accompanied it. "Question #9: Do you like fedoras?"


"Nah, they're dumb" I giggled.


She gave us the weird monocle face before flashing the words "BUT M'LADY!"


I burst out laughing at how ridiculous these questions were.


"Question #10: Do you like opossums?"


"Yeah, they're kinda cute!" I nodded.


Emoji gave me a confused look on a sky blue background. She then gave us a happy face. "Alright! You can ask me whatever you want now."


"What do you know about Remo and his involvement?" Chad asked her.


"He wasn't as involved as I or Tanezumi, but Tanezumi hired him for a specific role, which we found out later would be catastrophic to our original plans." Emoji explained vaguely.


"I don't really understand what that's supposed to mean. What plans? And you must have known Tanezumi was going to do all of this according to Remo's journal" I pointed out.


"I can't just feed you all of the answers. You're going to have to figure this all out yourself." Emoji told us. "I'll give you helpful hints but you're literally asking me to give you answers"


"There's alot we need to know about and most of us are in the dark about it" Chad reminded her.

"Are you really, though?" Emoji asked. "Things have a way of smoothing themselves out. You already almost know Ursidae Congregations plan. You already know alot about how Tanezumi works. You almost know what the Revolution's plan is."


"So what? Is Ursidae Congregation simply in a quarrel with the Revolution? I don't know what that has to do with us and why Ursidae Congregation wants to kill us because of their quarrel with some kind of revolution movement." Chad continued to challenge her.


"It's not over just some quarrel. There's alot more that goes into it. You took pictures of the files in Tanezumi's office I'm not sure what more you're trying to look for. If you'd like some helpful hints I'd suggest checking out the room across from Remo's then looking in each and every single person's bed room." Emoji gave us a wink face.


"Really? You're not going to explain anything of Remo's involvement?" I asked.


"No, because you can figure that out on your own." Emoji giggled. "Now run along, the clock is ticking and you can't just look at me for all the answers."


"Fine" Chad sighed. "Let's go, Mary. She won't give us answers."


I nodded and followed Chad back to the elevator. We went back to the floor with all the rooms and immediately went into the 23rd room across from Remo's room. Inside was a large white room that almost looked like a laboratory. Everything in the room was white and very bright. It hurt my eyes a bit, so I had to squint. Chad saw me struggling, so he handed me Steve's sunglasses. I put them on and it made my eyes feel much better.


"Why is Tanezumi hiding a lab in here?" I asked as I looked around.


"It's not a lab, you idiot!" Tanezumi's voice sounded from behind us.


We turned around to see Tanezumi leaning against the door way.


"This isn't a laboratory, it's a place of preservance!" Tanezumi laughed.


"What do you mean?" I asked.


"It means its where I keep all my refrigerated goods!" Tanezumi laughed as she went over to the other side of the room and opened a door, revealing a big shelf of ice cream. Cold air floated out from the door she opened.


"What? Why?" Chad shook his head in disbelief.


"For you guys!" Tanezumi giggled.


"The door was locked prior to this investigation" Chad pointed out.


"Oops!" Tanezumi threw her hands up into a shrug.


"You're hiding something." Chad narrowed his eyes at her.


"No I'm not!" Tanezumi got defensive before leaving.


"Hmm..." I went over to one of the doors and opened it. The room beyond the door was empty, but it looked like it contained some sort of coffin. The coffin was empty, though. We checked behind some of the other doors and some of them had empty coffins and others had frozen food goods.


"She is hiding something. Why are there coffins in some of these freezers?" Chad asked.


"I'm not really sure, especially since they're empty." I tapped my chin.


"Let's check out everyone's rooms" Chad suggested, but it sounded like more of a command than anything.


"Alright" I nodded.


We first went to Guillermo's room, which was right next to Remo's room. We searched in there and didn't find anything too much of interests. We started going through everyone's room. It wasn't until we went into Susie's room and Eric's room that we found something interesting.


In Susie's room, we found a huge collection of stuffed bears in colors that corresponded with everyone that was in the amusement park participating in this crazy game Tanezumi set up. The people who were dead had daggers through them. The only one with a dagger through it that did not depict somebody who actually died was the bear that had Pizza Steve's main color theme. I also noticed that there was a teddy bear of Beary Nice that had a stab mark in it, but there was no dagger in it. I'm assuming she took it out of the Beary Nice bear and put it into the Pizza Steve bear. But why? This whole layout she had made no sense to me and was just really creepy. Chad seemed to take something out of it though, he nodded and took pictures.


In Eric's room, we found a notebook, It was mostly empty, except for one page that read "I KNOW AND I'M SORRY". Just as we got to that page, Tanezumi's announcement came up on all the screens.
"Tiiimmee's up! I hope you covered enough ground to figure out everything once and for all in our last trial!" Tanezumi laughed. "Meet in the Star Auditorium!"


Chad pursed his lips before slamming down the note book.


"I understand now..."
