- Your choice of Mega Stone (I have most of them from both versions)
- The above Ditto if 1st place doesn't want it
Honorable Mentions:
- Will get a mention from me in the results journal
If I have enough points left over I'll throw in some cake badges, starting from 1st place down.
CONTEST INFO:
Sometimes, Pokemon have interesting gender differences (like in the Nidoran line), other times, they're just awful (Wobbuffet?!), and the rest are very subtle or nonexistent anyway. Well, your job is to change that!
I want you guys to take an existing Pokemon's line, and make two distinct (but visually related!) male and female designs. The Nidoran line is a great example of exactly what I'm looking for. You can see how different each design is, but you can also see how all 3 stages are visually similar.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Absolutely no gender labels. Don't put the m/f symbol next to them, don't mention it in the description, and if they're interacting with each other they shouldn't be exhibiting any gender-specific body language. If the gender isn't instantly obvious, then your design has already failed.
You can have up to TWO entries, but you can only place with one. G-rated only.
Submit your entries to me via note with the subject of "Contest Entry". Other methods will not be accepted. (You can swap out entries until the deadline.)
You must do the entire Pokemon line, including any branched evolutions but excluding banned Pokemon. (See below for more detailed info.)
Only ONE Pokemon line per entry, and all in one image.
In the case of single-gender Pokemon, changes must still be made to both gender designs. (Like if you did Tauros, you'd have to change something for the male version. You can't just add a female version and leave the male one as-is.)
ALL skill levels are welcome, but you will be judged on presentation, design, and creativity.
Submissions must be done in a cartoony style. You don't have to be a Sugimori clone or anything, I just want to avoid extremes like realism or chibis so it's a fair playing field. Really, just draw it like normal Pokemon, and you'll be fine.
Pokemon should be depicted in their natural Pokemon bodies. Basically, no anthros/gijinkas/whatever. Again, just draw them like Pokemon, and you're good.
Some Pokemon are banned, but otherwise I don't care whether you use normal or gender-exclusive, genderless, legendary, etc. Feel free to make a male/female Lugia, Ditto, Acreus, Voltorb, etc.
The following are great examples of what you should do, and that's why they're banned from this contest:
NidaranF - NidaranM
Nidorina - Nidorino
Nidoqueen - Nidoking
Gardevoir - Gallade (Ralts and Kirlia are ok if you choose to do their line, just leave off Gardevoir and Gallade.)
Silcoon - Cascoon (Same as above, just do Wurmple, Beautifly, and Dustox if you choose this line)
Plusle - Minun (They're not technically related but their designs are similar so it counts.)
Volbeat - Illumise
Latias - Latios
Shellos E W (Not a gender difference, but their designs are still a great example.)
Gastrodon E W
Uxie - Mesprit - Azelf (Same reason as Plusle and Minun.)
Basculin R - B (Same as Shellos, although these are the bare minimum differences I'd accept.)
Frillish M F
Jellicent M F
Arcanine (Ok so this one's a bit different, but I'm gonna save you time by saying this now. Using Arcanine is a guaranteed lose for you because I'm biased about it, and I'll hate anything you change about its design.)
Meowstic M F
Pyroar M F
MORE CLARIFICATIONS:
The prize will be awarded as exact points (2,396 ).
dA likes to do a give-one-get-one-free promo around Christmas. If you're patient, you might want to hold onto those points so you can sub a friend as well!
Backgrounds are not necessary, but they might affect your presentation score depending on how well you make them work. That's a very big "might" though.
If you're insane enough to do Eevee, you only have to a minimum of TWO of its evolutions, because having to make a m/f out of that many evos is just torture. The more you do, the more chances you have to gain or lose points.
Designs for non-permanent form changes (Shaymin, Darmanitan, Giratina, Deoxys, Megas, etc.) are optional. Again, they can help or hurt your score.
The 1-year sub is the only prize I'm providing, the rest are donations. This means that I can personally guarantee that the sub will be given, but please understand that the other prizes may change if anything comes up on the donor's end.
I don't care about you making new names, just the designs.
I got the ditto from the GTS and while it appears "hacked" in every way, I've given clones of it to several people as a breeding tool and everybody's games are fine. I doubt the GTS would allow an unsafe Pokemon through. Just ask Peachfuzz, Scorpio1996, NinjaKit404, and several others if they want to be listed here as my ditto witnesses.

A thing
I have a coworker who occasionally insists on using my computer for stuff that I could do way faster and better since it's part of my usual duties. This last time my computer was being extra slow, so it was pretty amusing to watch him struggle.
I toyed with Dvorak years ago, maybe it's time to make the switch. It would be hilarious.
I'm such a (benign) troll.
Tl;dr
I got Moon, picked Litten, found an awesome outfit, just unlocked Sharpedo, my Growlithe is almost ready to evolve, and officially lost hope for the Pokemon Go tracker.
Still alive and stuff
It's been so long since my last update here, I figured I should say something. My phone logged me out of my account at some point and I just never got around to logging back in until now. Or trying out this DA app.
Work is still the same old same old. When you spend 40 hours a week at a computer screen on Firefox and various Adobe programs it makes you not want to do those things in your off time xD.
These last few months I've become more interested in learning and taking in information vs creating things, which is handy for solving work problems...but kind of a bummer since there's definitely lots of personal stuff I still want to make.

Exciting News!! + Feature
Yesterday I finally picked up the keys to my new place!! It's a pretty simple unfurnished 1br apartment, and my commute will be at least 30 mins longer, but the nights and weekends will be worth it. Living at home has been great for my finances, but not so much for my mental state. It's been a slow drain, one that snuck up on me over the years, but—as you can tell by the lack of activity on this account—my mental reserves are at their limit and I've been in extreme energy-saving mode for over a year just to get by. Now that I've met my current financial goals, it's time to start the next phase of my life: repairing my weary introv
